I don't blame Holmes. I blame Boone for continually bringing him in to blow save after save, when it's been proven, time and time again, that he's the biggest choker in a save situation.

Yes the biggest problem with this team right now is the talent is not being used properly. This is NOT 2023 where there was half the lineup with AAAA players. The Yankees have a +122 run differential this year they were -25 last year! I know it's tough conversations, but with Rizzo back who is not as spent since he missed so much time 1B is covered. Jazz was a great trade and has been and will help this team. DJ no matter how much he's done for the team he's killing the team. Verdugo found some offense lately, but it doesn't mean Dominguez shouldn't be up here. Grisham also seems useless at this point. Put the best lineup out there and put the best pitchers out there. Stop with the inferior lineups and pitching decisions.

i really need to stop letting this team affect my mood so much this season. Last year, I was at peace with the losses; the team wasn't going anywhere, they were decimated by injuries, and just not very good. This year, it's all there for the taking, and these humps keep doing this crap. Blown lead after blown lead. I can get over a good old ass-whoopin' pretty quickly. But to lose so many games in this fashion makes my blood boil, especially when it's the same guy(s) effing everything up.

In so many wins the Yankees just look completely in control thats what is frustrating. It's just amazing how one game Yankees can play like that and then the next one can barely hold a lead or the bullpen gives up 5 runs in an inning or something.

They'll have a game or two where they look like they're turning a corner, then *smack*, a night like tonight where you're reminded of the myriad issues they have bubble back up and the frustration returns.

The problem has been they don't lose enough where it damages their season so they've been able to get away with that. They have stepped it up vs good teams so I'm not gonna count them out, but you gotta win 2 of 3 or 3 of 3. 1 of 3 is not cutting it at this point.

Disgusting. If possible a new low. Cannot keep giving away games like this. Not sure who the answer is but it ain’t holmes in the 9th. Team scratches and claws. Deserves better than this.

Verdugo is hitting .232 against lefties with a .606 OPS against lefties yet still plays everyday. And then the bullpen....

The Yankees have adopted the philosophy of their owner. For Hal, failure is not a reason for change.

They'll easily make the playoffs but how can you win in October when your team defense and bullpen is this bad? This collapse started in the 8th with the two gift runs the Yankee infield gave the Rangers and Holmes finished it off. Right behind the numbers of the 11 blown saves a couple of them bad defense also played a factor.
The other side of the coin is that in a couple of games earlier in the season the Yankees made some excellent field plays that bailed out Holmes.

Didn't see much re that in that game thread, but some seemed to hold him somewhat responsible for last night's debacle.

Gosh...if only Rodon hadn't given up the HR to Jung...or Chisholm hadn't held up at 3rd when he could've easily scored...or Soto didn't overslide the bag when he was safe at 2nd...or...

I blame Verdugo for everything. Other posters blame guys they don't like. The loss last night was a real team effort. There were enough low points to make most fans unhappy.
