OMG, I think that would have been a three run HR.

OMG, I think that would have been a three run HR. Yankees have the worst OF luck with other teams OFS.

Yates having a great season for the Rangers as their closer. Splitter at the knees, taken for a strike. My webcast now buffering a lot as many people join the stream out of shock. All these bullpen issues the Yankees are having, Yates was once a Yankee reliever. Of course, so was Robertson too.

Chisholm stole 2nd on that 1st splitter. Fouls off a splitter in the same spot, 0-2 Fb on the knees, inner half, should be strike 3, not called, about the 4th pitch the Yanks have gotten a big break on this inning. 60% on Gameday. FB outside middle fouled. Splitter dives down and in, taken, 2-2 FB at the top, hit hard to deep left, but Langford races back, and leaps at the wall to grab it. Not sure it was a HR, but at least a 2 run double if he doesn't get there. Game over, Yanks lose, 10-6. Yanks lose their 2nd straight, and 6th in the last 8, dropping back to 20 games over .500 at 80-60. I gave the updated standings assuming the Yanks lost, and though they made the 9th inning interesting, those standings are what they were.

Well, Duke Ellis will never forget this game. When Duke Ellis plays, good things happen.

OK, Yanks get a day off tomorrow, then go to play a red-hot Cubs team at Wrigley Field this weekend. All 3 games are at 2:20 pm, and all three are on YES.
Yanks are supposedly activating both Luis Gil and Clarke Schmidt to pitch back to back in this series:
1st game: Gil (12-6, 3.39 ERA) vs. Javier Assad (7-4, 3.21 ERA), he's been hit pretty hard by the White Sox and Guardians his last two starts, and he's a righty.
2nd Game: Schmidt (5-3, 2.52 ERA) and hasn't pitched since late May, goes against Jordan Wicks, who was also on the IL for a long time this year, making his 2nd start off the IL. He pitched 5 innings of 1 run ball for win without walking or striking out a batter.
3rd Game: Gerrit Cole (6-3, 3.65 ERA) will face his old Pirate and Yankee running-mate, Jameson Taillon (9-8, 3.66 ERA); he's 3-1 in his last 6 starts with an ERA of 1.85 with 39 K and 11 BB in 34 innings.
Series preview done, I'll make a last check of notifications...
