Volpe takes a slider above and inside middle for strike 1.
Slider breaks outside above the knees, 1-1
Pulls open again, misses early and inside a slider going low on the outer 3rd, 1-2
Slider low away, Volpe opens up early again, but hits it fairly hard to the 56 hole, Swanson dives to his right, backhands and decides not to throw as Volpe too fast. Infield hit.

Verdugo takes a FB outside, ball 1.
Throw over.
FB in the zone above and outside middle, Verdugo takes a big hack, but misses under, fouling it back and to the left a bit.
Takes a waist high FB outer 3rd, 1-2
Wingenter comes set, steps off.
Same FB a bit lower, fouled off, this one at 98.
Chases a splitter about 5 inches outside, fouls it. Volpe had a big jump, has to go back.
Flies open a bit, FB at 97, sails up and away, 2-2.
Runner goes, and the splitter starts in the zone, so Verdugo has to cover it as it drops out of the zone, fouls it again.
Volpe not running on that pitch, splitter below and outside middle, lined to right for a hit. Volpe holds at 2nd with 2 down for Torres.
Pitching out to talk to Wingenter.

FB runs up and in, Torres spins back a bit, 1-0
Slider down the middle, thigh high, taken, 1-1
Slider nearly bounced outside, 2-1. Bethancourt, old Yankee nemesis, now catching for Amaya.
Same FB at the first pitch, Torres leans back, 3-1
Fb starts in the zone, tails inside, Torres gets himself out when a take there is ball 4, bases loaded and Soto up with two outs.
FB jams him a bit, his fly to right center is an easy play for Crow-Armstrong, moving to his left, inning over.
Bottom 9, 3-0 Yanks, but 2-3-4 in the 9th for the Cubs: Busch, Suzuki and Bellinger.
Let's see who gets the closing attempt.
It's bold strategy not scoring insurance runs for 6 innings, Cotton, let's see if it pays off.
