Kahnle in to pitch the 8th. Assuming he holds the lead, who closes? Weaver or Holmes?

If they were in the Bronx I think Holmes would hear boos raining down. Weaver should get the call but Boone loves going with the same thing.

Crow-Armstrong steps in...
Swings over a 1st pitch change at the knees in the middle, 0-1 Swings over another above the knees, just outside middle, 0-2 Takes his timeout Change low, near middle, hit hard to the right side, but Rizzo knocks it down, recovers, wheels around, gets it to Kahnle just ahead of Crow-Armstrong for the out. Close play at 1st, 1 down.

Old friend Mike Tauchman PH for Amaya. Slider misses just inside, ball 1. Change tails outside, Kahnle gets a break, called a strike anyway, 0% on Gameday. Change tails outside, 2-1 FB misses high, inner, 3-2 Swings over a change low, inside middle, 3-2 Change starts low in the zone, dives out of the zone, inside middle, swung over for the change.

Happ takes a change well low, not outside as Kay said, on the outer 3rd, 1-0 FB tails just outside near the top, 2-0 Change below and outside middle, late and under, fouls it off, 2-1 Change drops into the zone at the top, on the outer 3rd, taken, strike 2. Crowd groans some, but it's a strike, 30-40% on Gameday Change starts inside corner below the waist, disappears down to the knees, swung over for the K, inning over.
Excellent 1-2-3 for Kahnle with 2 K's. 14 pitches.
Top 9, 3-0 Yanks. 6-7-8 for the Yanks: Chisholm, Rizzo and Volpe.

Wingenter in to pitch the 9th for the Cubs. Yanks a slider down and in, ball 1. FB up in the zone in the middle, taken, 1-1 FB just outside, above the waist, fouled, 1-2 Takes his timeout. FB well high, outside middle, 97, 2-2 Yanks the slider down and in, and Chisholm spins and skips out of the way at the same time, 3-2 FB outside corner at 98, bounced toward the middle, but Swanson fields behind and to the left of 2nd, throws him out. 1 down.

It's like we want insurance runs BUT just want a clean 9th and put this game to bed.

Rizzo takes a splitter that barely catches the outside corner, 0-1 Swings over a splitter dropping knee-high, 0-2 FB starts outside, tails further away, taken, 1-2 FB above the zone, inside middle at 97, Rizzo doesn't risk it, fouls it off. Same FB at the 0-2, maybe a bit higher, taken, 2-2 Splitter low, Rizzo serves a low line, one hops to Swanson, knocks it down, has plenty of time to recover, throws him out, 2 down.
