Chases a good slider diving well out of the zone low and outside, 2-2
Shortens up on the bat.
Takes his timeout late, and negates a FB up and in.
Shortening up doesn't help when you chase a slider that pretty much bounced over the outer half. K, 2 down.

Slider at the top outside corner, fouled back, 0-1
Chases a FB on the inside corner about 4-5 inches high, fouled back, 0-2
Hanging curve near middle middle, pulled hard, but too early, foul down the right side. Too bad. He was on it.
Bounces the slider outside, Chisholm goes late, the throw to 2nd is way off to the 1st base side, deflects off Witt's mitt into short right center, Chisholm to 3rd on the WP/E-2.

Slider on the low outside corner, popped back of 3rd, Witt has the angle and calls off Garcia, catches, inning over.
Yanks 0-5 with RISP now, 5 LOB.
Top 7, 4-3 Royals.
Hampson, then back to the top for Pham and Witt.
Cousins was warming and might be coming in for the Yanks.
Sox lead the O's, 4-2, top 6 in Fenway.
Phils lead the Rays, 1-0, top 9 in Philly.
Mets lead the Jays, 1-0, top 7 in Toronto.

Sinker maybe just missed inside, waist high, 2-0. Marginal. 5% on Gameday.
Slider just misses outside, by an inch, called a strike anyway, so it's evened up, 2-1
Slider low, inside middle, taken, 3-2
Sinker on the outside corner waist high, popped foul back of 3rd, Verdugo runs over, but it just gets over the screen, 3-2
Takes his timeout.
Slider at the knees, inside middle, bounced foul off 1st.
Sinker misses low, inner half, ball 4.

Isbel is 9 for 11, but it doesn't matter, because Cousins picks him clean, Isbel leaning the wrong way, Rizzo drops the tag down, 1 out.

Sinker on the outer 3rd at the knees, takes that one as well, 1-2
Slider diving way outside and down, opens up way early, a Stantonian chase for the K, 2 down.

There's something about that Cousins slider that makes it look hittable despite being nowhere near the plate by the time it gets there. We've seen it all year.

Swings over more or less the same slider he missed on the 1st pitch, maybe a couple of inches lower and further away, K, inning over.

Long threw 20 pitches in his half; Cousins, 14 in his.
