I haven't mentioned them all season, but I bet the SOSH denizens are out of their minds over the K zone today. As ever, I won't check until the game is over. Kaybli will sometimes give us some sample lamentations from the Red Sox faithful. It's hilarious!

Slider starts at Volpe, breaks onto the inner 3rd, takes it, 0-1 Sinker dives way inside and low, Jansen does well to prevent the wild pitch. Slider drops below the knees, Volpe tries to check in time, but it hits the bat, goes foul off 1st, 1-2 Sinker in the zone down and in, he tries to golf it to left, but misses, fouling it off Sinker in the zone up and in ties him up, soft liner up the middle bounced in front of 2nd, Gonzalez gloves it, near the bag, steps on the base for the force, inning over. Volpe had to swing on both 1-2's there were both sinkers and both in the K zone.
Yanks come away with an error-aided unearned run, lead 5-2, going top 8. 3-4-5 for the Sox: Devers, O'Neill and Wong, against Weaver, probably. Maybe Kahnle. But these are the high leverage hitters in the Sox lineup.

OK, Hill stays in for Devers, as he should.

Devers takes a sinker above middle, 0-1 Sinker out of the zone down and in, he tries to lift it to right, grounds it to Hill on the right side of the mound, fields and flips to Cabrera, 1 down.
That's it for Hill, and I suppose if Boone must use Holmes, a three-run lead vs. two righties is the best possible spot for it.

O'Neill is 0-3 vs. Holmes with 1 BB and 1 K. Wong is 0-2 with 1 K.

Hopefully Holmes does the job here and then maybe go to Tommy in the 9th.

Sinker brushes the outside corner, <5% on Gameday, called a strike, 0-1 Slider on the corner away, swing and a miss, 0-2 Swings over a sinker on the low outside corner, K, 2 down.

The overpowering K of O'Neill is Holmes, but so is the bloop double just over 1st by Wong on a 1st pitch sinker up and in that tied him up.

It's hilarious, people say loud and vulgar stuff all the time when they're mad, but to actually take the time to type it out on a keyboard?!
