Cutter hits the bottom of the zone outer 3rd, not called again, but this one's marginal, 10% on Gameday
Takes the slider well low and outside, 1-1
Cutter maybe 1% on the outside corner, maybe 0%, but for all the bad calls Crawford has gotten so far, he deserves that one, 3-2.
Cutter again brushes the bottom of the zone, not called, but this one very marginal, <5% on Gameday, ball 4.

To be sure, both pitchers have gotten some bad calls, but Crawford's had about 7-8 pitches that could've/should've been strikes that were not. Rodon's had maybe 2 or 3 such calls.
Cora removes Crawford, brings in lefty Penrod to face Chisholm, at least.

FB about 4-5 inches above the corner away, taken, 3-1
Wow, interesting idea, bunts off 3rd, Devers playing shortstop, but he doesn't keep it fair; goes foul, 3-2. The bunt hit was there for the taking.
Throw over on Judge.
Slider starts high and at him, freezes Chisholm drops into the upper part of the zone for a ꓘ, 2 down.

Stanton...
Takes a FB near the low inside corner, 0-1
Change near the low outside corner, fouled almost straight back, 0-2
Throw over on Judge.
Change bounced down and in, Stanton doesn't chase, 1-2
Change below the waist, outside corner, spoiled
FB sails up and away, Stanton barely moves, 2-2
FB yanked down and in, steps out of the way...and he can move quickly to get out of the way of a pitch, but not on the bases. Just saying.
Change waist high, outer 3rd, fouled off.
8th pitch of the at bat...
Slider at the knees in the middle, rolled over to Story, throws out Stanton, inning over.
Top 6, 4-2 Yanks.
Wong, Yoshida and Story in the 6th for Boston.
Rodon threw 23 pitches in the 4th, and 26 more in the 5th. It'll be interesting to see how long Boone stays with him in the 6th. If he stays with him, which I think he will, even with a day off tomorrow. Boone will be free with the pen today, day off tomorrow and a chance to open the lead back to 3 over the O's.

Swings over a slider in the zone low, away, 0-2
Leaves that slider in the zone low/away, and that's too bad, because it allows Yoshida to pull a tapper to Torres, who throws him out, but that allows Wong to get to 3rd with 1 down.
If that slider is out of the zone a bit, it's probably a K, despite Yoshida's low K rate.
That's it for Rodon, 2 runs in 5 1/3 and 88 pitches, but Wong on 3rd is his responsibility.
Hamilton warmed in the 5th, and warmed again for coming in here. I hope he's got the good stuff today.

Story was 0-2 vs. Hamilton before that K, now he's 0-3.

Great slider on the corner away, thigh high, Jansen misses it clean for the K!
Great job by Jansen's, two K's with a man on 3rd to keep the Sox from getting closer. Also saves Rodon some ERA points.

6-7-8 for the Yanks: Dominguez, Volpe and Cabrera.
