Grisham Takes a slider below and outside middle, 0-1
Takes a slider above the knees. 0-2.
Sinker outside, 1-2
Sinker inside corner, fouled
Slider outer 3rd, rolled over, but just foul off first.
Sinker inside at the knees, Grisham jackknifes, then skips over, 2-2
Sinker inside ties him up, fouled off.
Slider outside is 3-2
Tries to check on a terrible sinker 6-8 inches low, outer 3rd, marginal call on the side view, but the 3rd base ump rings him up, K, inning over.
Bottom 7, 1-1
Bleday, Langeliers and Gelof for the A's in the 7th, presumably against Cole, though he hasn't gone past 6 this year I think.

Why did they take Stanton out when he almost just homered almost and it's only the 7th? Just PH Grisham instead. Grisham already in the lineup tonight, anthony. |

Wanted legs on the bases, unfortunately rendered moot by the most predictable GIDP in history. I get that in the 9th if its likely Stanton won't get another AB, but in the 7th seems kinda early. Boone didn't trust the lineup to get the three hits it would take to score Stanton from first base. |

Humps up to 96.5, misses well high, he doesn't chase up the ladder, 1-2
Cutter into the top of the zone, Langeliers swings under it for the K, 1 down.

Sad but likely true and I guess he could go to Oswaldo if any of the OF needed to come out of the game for some reason if they don't want Soto playing the field tonight. Using Dominguez in the OF would cause them to lose the DH and the pitcher would have to bat. |

Brown gets a 95 FB above middle, fouls it, 0-1
FB misses just outside waist high, at 95.5, but Cole gets the call. 0% on Gameday by 2 inches. 0-2
Cole comes set, then steps off.
Change dives outside knee high, 1-2
Humps up to 97, FB outside and below middle hit hard to the right side, but Torres is there, gets it to Volpe in good order, and the relay beats the slowish Brown for the double play to get out of the inning.
In past years, leaving Cole in the game at 77 pitches after 7 would be a no-brainer, but I that I'd take him out here. Not sure, maybe Boone will leave him in against the bottom of their order.
Top 8, still tied at 1.
Volpe, Verdugo then back to the top for Torres for the Yanks in the 8th.

Throws hard 97 on the first FB up and in.
96 FB up and in as well, 2-0
FB above middle at 96, taken, 2-1
Sinker with sharp drop at 95, below and inside middle, taken, 2-2
FB near the top in the middle, fouled back.
He also has slider and cutter and a rarely used changeup.
Slider outer 3rd fouled off
Sinker dives in the zone down and in, topped to short, Wilson throws out Volpe, 1 down.
