Carnoustie has hosted The Open Championship on eight occasions, most recently in 2018. 2018 – Francesco Molinari 2007 – Padraig Harrington 1999 – Paul Lawrie 1975 – Tom Watson 1968 – Gary Player 1953 – Ben Hogan 1937 – Henry Cotton 1931 – Tommy Armour Jack Nicklaus tied for second with Bob Charles in 1968. Some serious names on there Rizz. Old Tom Morris designed that course, although I think only one hole remains as he laid it out. We have four nights in St. Andrews, so lots of golf history there obviously. We're meeting some friends for drinks at the Old Course Hotel. And the obligatory Swilcan Bridge photo op. We're pumped for this! Very envious, Pipps! But, at the very least, I can live vicariously through your travels. If you happen to have your iPhone and/or camera, sharing is always welcome! No pressure, though. Enjoy the moment first and foremost.

Rutschman takes a slider on the outside corner 0-1. Takes a slider well outside, 1-1 Sinker in the zone down and in, popped to short left center, Volpe goes back, but Verdugo calls, races in late and has to lunge after the wind carried it in away from him, 1 down.

It's political...they made the trade for Verdugo, so they have to play him...the same reason they played LeMahieu even though he's done. Cashman already has a job for life, so it makes little difference if he's moves work or not. You're on a roll Chi!

Santander takes a curve low, ball 1 Takes a cutter below and inside middle, a bad location, but he didn't go after it, 1-1 That cutter is slung well inside, 2-1 Cutter even further inside makes him jackknife out of the way, 3-1 Watch out here, Clarke.

It's like Valley of the Stupid trying to rationalize why Verdugo is playing over Dominquez.

Santander always seems to hit a dinger in every series he plays against the Yankees.

Cutter winds up just inside above the knees, fouls it off his foot, 3-2 Sinker up and away, Santander chases, slaps it well foul down the left side. Slider below and outside middle, jump all over it, rips it down the line, hits the foul pole a couple of feet above the wall for a solo HR, 3-1 O's, and that will be the last pitch of the night for Schmidt, as Boone waited for him to make one last mistake.
Not really that good a night for Schmidt, Kay. Yes, a lot of swings and misses, and a decent number of K's, but only went 5 1/3 and gave up 3 runs and 2 HRs, needing 100 pitches for 5 1/3. I mean, he wasn't shelled, but that's not a great game. Tough lineup, yes, but still. Not a great game.

It's like Valley of the Stupid trying to rationalize why Verdugo is playing over Dominquez. I'd put Roy White out there for the playoffs right now and Roy has to be about 77 !

Santander always seems to hit a dinger in every series he plays against the Yankees. It's almost always a big HR, too. Sometimes a game-winner. I still say he's the best clutch hitter on the team.
