O'Hearn takes a FB high, then another on the corner away, 1-1 Fb on the low inside corner, late and under, popped to short left, Chisholm goes back to catch it. 1 down.
Uh, Coney? A retractable dome doesn't let you play in a hurricane. It MIGHT have let them play tonight, but the traveling to and from the park would've been progressively worse, and it's better for the Mets that they get out of town NOW.

Not comparing the difficulty of turning the DP between the positions. I am comparing the challenges of executing the play in 2024 versus 2000. I thought the job of the 2B on the 6 4 3 DP was about as bad as it gets. How is it any different than a 4-6-3 DP? A slow acting SS made the guy at 2nd a target back then. The SS had the play in front of him. He could see the runner and ball. Plus the pivot and throw at 2nd was harder. At least now you have some protection that the runner is not going to take you out.

Urias takes a slider at the top, 0-1 Slider inside, pulled to 3rd, Chisholm fields and throws him out, 2 down.

SS was still just as vulnerable on a 4-6-3 DP.

McCann takes a FB at the top, outside middle, Mullins goes and beats the throw from Wells by a small amount, stolen base. Slider outer 3rd, fouled, 0-2. FB misses 3-4 inches high, inside corner, taken, 1-2 Slider below the knees, outside corner, serves a flare, Torres goes back and leaps, but it just gets over him for a single, Mullins scores, 8-1, O's
"...and this games GETTING out of hand". I know you have to say something Paulie, but, well...that seems a little late, doesn't it?

I know you have be following this team all year. I think they have only come back from being 4 down twice.. It's now 7-1.. What do you think? Seriously.. I think it ain't over 'til it's over. I also know it's very easy to criticize when things aren't going well...which seems to be the primary purpose of these game threads. I also know the same posters who point fingers, criticize & trash players during bad times are the same ones who jump on the bandwagon when things are going well. Their largest comeback is 4 FWIW. This game obv turned when the pitching matchup changed. Sucks, but if they don't come back they got Cole tomorrow vs Burnes that game can go either way. Cle tied 2-2 Bot 8. If they lose that magic # would go down to 2.

Remember the comeback Yankees from a few years ago? I can't remember how many games they came back in, but it was a lot. I couldn't name even 1 game the Yankees came back from this year, losing by 5 or more runs...not that I don't wish they would, I'm just calling it as I see it...unless they put up a bunch of runs early, and they have Cole or Rodon pitching, this Yankee team doesn't know how to come back. Yeah...you remember when the game "was the real game"...back when rotary phones and typewriters were high tech. Yet...you still watch, and complain?? I only complain because it's frustrating to see yet another 1 and done, or 2 and through Yankee team. To be honest, I now watch the Yankees mostly for Soto and Judge, because the rest of the team honestly doesn't interest me very much, since they don't really show much talent, and really don't have the winning instinct. Love the J&J (Juan and Judge) boys though! Go Yankees!

Henderson fouls off a slider on the inner 3rd, 0-1 FB thigh high, middle, fouled, 0-2 FB low and outside, taken, 1-2 Change misses low inner 3rd, 2-2 Takes his timeout FB at the bottom at 95, fliner to left of center, Judge backs up a bit, reaches up, catches, inning over.
Bottom 5, 8-1 O's.
Rizzo, Torres, then back to the top for Torres for the Yanks in the 5th.

I like Gleyber, and am happy he's finally found his stroke this last month...just in time for him to go on the free market, and become an ex-Yankee next season.

Yesterdays game was annoying and this one isn't over, but most of the time if the starter changes late that doesnt work out a lot so I kind of expected a few runs off Stroman, but the offense does need to score more. I dunno what the winning instinct thing you are referring to? This team has won plenty of games more than anyone in the AL.

Curve misses low/away, ball 1 on Volpe. Change almost in the same spot, takes that one, too, 2-0 Cutter backs up inside, McCann tries to pull it back, no sale, 3-0 Nice sinker tails to the inside corner, didn't just lay it in, 3-1 Cutter on the outside corner, Volpe tries to fake his way on, Volpe starts to throw the bat away, and if he really thought that was outside, he doesn't know the K zone. 3-2 Sinker inside corner, fouled off. Cutter waist high outer 3rd, just misses under, fly ball to deep right, Santander goes back and toward the corner, catches it a step from the wall, 1 down.
