Soto Takes a change dropping below and outside middle, 0-1 Another one drops outside near the knees, 1-1 Same change, maybe a bit higher, same take, same result, 2-1 Sharp cutter hits the low inside corner, 2-2. Crowd groans, but it WAS a strike. Change to the outside corner, fouled off. Cutter on the back door, slaps it foul to spoil. Cutter 3 inches outside near the top, again fouls it off. 8th pitch of the at bat coming. Completely fooled by a slider dropping low, inner half, K, 1 down.

Sinker below middle, hammered to the right of 2nd, but right at Westburg, who fields it and throws him out. 115.3 exit velo on that grounder. 2 down.

Wells takes a cutter inside, ball 1. Sinker to the outside corner, he tries to go with it to left, but the fliner is an easy play for Cowser, moving to his left, inning over.
Top 4, 3-1 O's. 11 pitch 1-2-3 for Eflin, just 3 pitches to Judge and Wells for the last two outs, 48 through 3. 7-8-9 for the O's in the 4th: Urias, Mullins and McCann.

Don't you think the revised sliding rules made 2B a lot "easier" ? Not at all. The same rules apply to SS covering the bag. Not comparing the difficulty of turning the DP between the positions. I am comparing the challenges of executing the play in 2024 versus 2000. I thought the job of the 2B on the 6 4 3 DP was about as bad as it gets.

I think it's time Boone (or rather Cashman) takes Wells (who's swinging like the tired lone catcher on the team that he is) out of the cleanup spot...and maybe try Jazz hitting there instead.

Urias takes a slurve on the corner away, 0-1 Catches a hanging sinker above middle, lines it to right for a leadoff single.

Greetings, teammates. Checking in late. Had a bad feeling about this one when I saw we had to pivot to Strohman. And unsurprisingly, I see he's been garbage again. Don't see anyway you can trust him in the postseason, he's a batting practice chucker at this point.

Mullins takes a sinker outside, 1-0 Takes a cutter high, 2-0 Takes a sinker at the top of the zone, 2-1 Sinker outer 3rd, knee high, goes with it up the middle, just to the right of 2nd, into center for a hit, Urias goes right to 3rd, and Stroman in big trouble again.

Maybe Stroman has settled in. Maybe not.

Sinker above middle, lined but Stroman gets a break, the 101 liner goes right to Torres, who has no play for a double play, 1 down.
