Don't understand why MLB wouldn't be successful there; it would be a regional team, just as the Rockies are. But as you said, Raleigh/Durham would work. It's more about location. Charlotte is right on the border with SC. Sure, for big series maybe they'll pull in people from upstate SC, TN, etc. But for day to day games they'll have to rely on the Charlotte metro. And as with the Hornets and their MLS team ... attendance is weak. Plus the southeast is Braves country. Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill can pull from Greensboro, Charlotte for big series, Virginia and TN for huge series, etc. They have a hockey team there that has great attendance so a new pro team would kill. Ok...I still feel a MLB team would be extremely successful in that part of the country. If Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill works better...fine. As for the southeast being Braves country, I assume that's because it's the only option. Older fans would probably stick with the Braves, but it seems younger fans would move toward a more "local" team. Eventually the Braves might become a distant memory. Or, if the NC team was an AL team maybe some dual allegiance, at least for awhile.

Though it would never happen, if Louisiana had a MLB team, I doubt few in Louisiana would not become instant fans of the new franchise. Saints' fans suffered though many years of ineptitude, but every Sunday there was a celebration surrounding game day nonetheless.

Does New Orleans still have a triple A team? No, alas. The AAA team in Denver was the Zephyrs, who I believe moved to New Orleans when the Rockies came in. When did they leave New Orleans?

This series is turning into October Madness. Both bullpens struggling to keep runs off the scoreboard, it's like whatever team's pen is on the mound last will lose.

You stay classy, Dodgers fans. Had a discussion earlier here re "laid back" Dodger fans. While there still is some of that, there's also a faction of very aggressive, unruly "fans". It's been a while since I've been to Dodger Stadium but I've seen it a Petco and closer to home here at Camelback Ranch, the Spring Training facility the Dodgers share with the White Sox.

You stay classy, Dodgers fans. Padre fans should have been careful departing Dodger Stadium last night, for their own safety.

Yep, Mets had the Phillies on the ropes. So far the Mets took away home field from the Phillies by splitting their first two away games.
