The Padres started Cease on three days rest and it didn't go well. The Musgrove injury is biting them right now.

Based on what? Little brother syndrome? Inferiority complex?
The Yankees, Knicks and Rangers will always own NY. And, I'm not even a Rangers fan.

It was the Yankees playing at prime time yesterday. Based off excitement and energy. Which is something that the Yankees and all MLB teams also have when they are winning. The Mets don't come close to creating all the excitement and energy that the Yankees have created for NYC over the last 102 seasons.
What have they done for me lately isn't the definition of owning.

No one is talking about 103 years. Right now today the Mets are hot. They beat us 6 games and we are dragging a**. The Yankees need a huge wake up call and shot of something. If the WS started today I would not want to go up against them.

If the WS started today I would not want to go up against them. The Yankees didn't even play the Mets 6 games. The White Sox have the Yankees a hard time too. Do the White Sox own the Yankees? The Yankees had a better record than the Mets over 162 games. That doesn't count? MLB being played by NY teams has been around a lot longer than "today".
Speaking of today, again, the grass isn't greener on the other side. Today the Yankees have as good of a chance to win the world series as any team that's still in the post season. The Yankees aren't dragging anything because there are only 2 teams that had a better record than the Yankees, neither of those teams are named the Mets. Plus if the win 1 more game the Yankees are in the AL Championship series. Win or lose, that's not dragging.
I'm sure that there were fans in the 90's that didn't want the Yankees to play against the Braves 3 Ace pitchers. Can the games be played first before the sky falls?

If the WS started today I would not want to go up against them. and to be honest, regardless of whether the Yankees beat KC, and then they beat either the Tigers or Guardians, and make it to the World Series...whatever team they finally face in the World Series (whether it's the Mets, Dodgers or Padres), the jump from playing the teams they had to face in the AL playoffs is going to seem like they were playing triple A minor league teams compared to the competition they'll get from the NL champions, whoever that may be. That's just a fact based on all the games so far, which shows the pitching and run scoring dominance of the NL playoff teams compared to AL. All that being said...this IS baseball, and things can change from one minute to the next in the playoffs. Just look how MVP Aaron Judge went from being Babe Ruth to Joey Gallo in only a few days...and just like that, he can go back to being Babe Ruth...it's the beauty of baseball...anything can happen at any time, which is why it's the greatest game ever invented!

So...does this mean you're backing off your "one and done" prediction? I never predicted it, I always questioned whether this team would go past "one and done" or "two and through." Of course, there's always "three and free" (to play golf), which is achieved by going to the World Series, only to lose...THAT is what I hope does NOT happen this year. I want the Yankees to win it all...but I'm not blind as to the competition in the NL...All I can say is, I wish the NL teams remaining (ONLY) had the talents of the AL teams the Yankees will be playing in the playoffs this year!
