I did not stay tuned for the postgame. If Hernandez did it the way it is reported in this thread, Manfred should suspend him for the postseason. He probably won't get suspended, but in my opinion what he said was uncalled for. Fine him… |

would have preferred detroit. skubal would have been tough but lineup wouldn't have scared yankee pitching. give them a lot of credit for making the final 8. this was a team that traded their #2 pitcher at the TDL because they thought they were out of it. 8 under .500 on aug 10. from that point on, went an incredible 31-13. didn't check but that might have been the best mark in baseball. the 26th lowest payroll. love when the unpredictable happens. when you just throw stats out the window. makes the game interesting.
also kudos to the royals who played us tough. their payroll was 20th. believe both teams have a bright future and will benefit from their experience this season.
so we move on to the indians. middle of the pack overall but bring a lot more offense with a couple dangerous bats in the lineup including ramirez, naylor, kwan and fry. pitching was 2nd in the AL and have the best bullpen by far in baseball w the best closer. won't be easy to come back against. expecting a tough series. again another bottom 1/3 payroll team at 23.

I hope the Yanks don't fall back into their slumber waiting till Monday to play. They're were just getting hot again. I also hope the red hot Mets haven't cooled off after their exciting run. mets getting blown out 6-0 after 4 1/2. mets started senga, who was great last year but had pitched only 7 innings this season and only 2 since july 26. haven't followed closely enough to understand why. they've had 3 days off and either severino (last sunday) or manaea (tuesday) should have been rested.
