certainly question staying with cole. he was getting hit hard. have to play the IF w 2nd & 3rd and 1 out unless you're conceding the run. royals just lucky on ground balls. we've been plagued by that at times this season.

Brilliant strategy by Verdugo, didn't swing at any of 4 pitches outside the zone.

Slow curve on the inside corner bounced up the 3rd base line, just foul as Garcia fields it, 0-2
Takes a splitter well high, 1-2. Missed by about 3 inches, though Perez tried to pull it down.
Overthrows a FB way high, Perez has to reach way up to save the WP, 2-2
Torres takes his timeout.
Then chases a terrible splitter way above the outside corner, trying to go Porch with it. You can't chase the splitter up like that.
It was a splitter at 88, not a mid-90's FB, Darling.

Slider above and outside middle, pulled to the right side, beats Massey's dive to his left for a hit, Verdugo stops at 2nd with 1 out.
Judge up, but he'll face Lorenzen, not Long.

FB and sinker both 93-4, will play up out of the pen, probably 95-6-7.
Also has a change, slider, cutter and curve.

How many days has Judge gone without hitting one out of the park? He HRed five games in a row before he got benched last Friday. Slider well inside, Judge checks, but it hits the bat, goes foul, 0-1 |
