OK, I've finally caught up with all the notifications, so I guess I'm going to have a very late dinner now.

Oh, almost forgot. The Yanks blew 2 leads...and won.
The Royals were 2-4 with RISP; the Yanks were 2 for 13...and they won anyway.
The Royals hitters struck out 7 times, just 4 before Weaver got into the game, and the Yanks hitters struck out 11 times...and they won.
The Yanks made the only error of the game, and it lead to the only two unearned runs...and they won.
It's not going to go this way often in the post-season, but it went that way tonight. In this game. Once.

Ok so the Tigers and Royals are similar talent levels and the Guardians are the only one left other than those 2 and the Yankees matchup well with the Guardians.

The biggest concern right now should be getting Judge out of his slump...both his end of the season slump and his post season slump...he's a much better hitter than his numbers have been showing lately! |

Nice to see two guys, Verdugo and Holmes, who had terrible seasons, be two of the heroes tonight. You need the whole team contributing in some way to win a championship.

The much maligned players specifically Verdugo, Gleyber,and Holmes deliver the goods for a win. I'll take a win anyway I can get it. No doubt Weaver's trust factor has been elevated.

I hope OC and Verdugo hit the cover off the ball, but I agree with your post. Also, Rice and Martian would have given the Yankees the option of having OC and Verdugo as late inning defensive replacements. Now, if the Yankee pinch hit for OC and Verdugo they become a weaker defensive team in the late innings when there's less margin for error. Grisham has been working out in LF. He's so good defensively I suspect he can handle it. If JD were to PH for Verdugo we might see him as a late inning defensive replacement. I don't know why, but I forgot that Grisham was on the postseason roster. Thank you. |

Oh, good grief, not Costas! In my opinion, he talks way too much. I watched most of the game on mute, only heard ball 4 calls, strike 3 calls, and balls in play, just to hear the crowd. Going to make sure that my remote control has a fresh set of batteries. |
