What happened to Gil? Isn't he going to start any of the games in this series? Evidently, we are saving Gil and Dominguez for next season.

OK, once again bad hitting with RISP early, a bit of bad luck with hard hit balls finding fielders in the later innings, but whatever the reason, Yanks didn't do nearly enough at the plate to win. Rodon was fine for the first two innings, weakened in the 3rd and collapsed in the 4th. Yanks held to one HR for the 2nd straight game, same as the Royals and if the Yanks can't win the HR battle, they won't win the series.
Royals pitching was not that dominant, but good enough. Yanks needed to take advantage of Ragans, who was not on top of his game, and didn't. He'll likely be better if it comes to game 5 back at the Stadium.
OK, going to catch up with notifications now.

Yes, but which Lugo shows up? Hittable Lugo, or dominant Lugo? It doesn't matter...He's a righty! As long as they don't throw anymore lefty starters! It seemed to matter when he dominated them for 7 innings at the Stadium last month.

What happened to Gil? Isn't he going to start any of the games in this series? Nope. Cole-Rodon-Schmidt. Honestly, if it goes to game 5, I'd much rather see an unproven Gil than Rodon who you can pretty much count on shitting the bed.

Witt up, marginal chance to rally against Erceg, but much harder down 4 or 5 instead of 3. Not a great move, but...¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I would have gambled it just to give Weaver the extra rest. Well, it cost a warmup and 4 pitches, but he gets a day off before games 3 and 4. Might not hurt him in game 3, but might in game 4.

Gifted as many base-on-balls as we have thus far, we've got to make the opposition pay with at least one RISP big hit.

Not after this game.

Geez, take a pitch Gleyber. One batter away from Juan Soto... Maybe the Dodgers know what they're doing having Ohtani lead off, no one is getting more plate appearances on that team than him.

I am not remotely interested in your negative posts. You are a misanthrope, Sir. Just place me on ignore. Vaya con Dios. Then you shouldn’t have replied. You’re a low IQ homer. Go look for a unicorn instead of telling me we haven’t seen this same story for years. Quod erat demonstrandum.

As I said in the series preview on Friday, Judge has to start coming through, not every time, but some of the time. It would take pressure off everyone else if he got going, even if just a little.

He has so much trouble controlling his emotions when something goes wrong. One bad slider to a Yankee killer in Sal Perez, and he then compounds mistakes. Gil may lose the strike zone at times, but as a rookie he has shown better composure on the mound overall.
