4 people at the desk on the post game is pretty crowded on YES vs like the national desks. Who's there for YES?

I would have gambled it just to give Weaver the extra rest. Well, it cost a warmup and 4 pitches, but he gets a day off before games 3 and 4. Might not hurt him in game 3, but might in game 4. If Gleyber hit one over the short porch in the 9th...

One batter away from Juan Soto... Maybe the Dodgers know what they're doing having Ohtani lead off, no one is getting more plate appearances on that team than him. I wish Gleyber had shown a little more patience.

Nope. Cole-Rodon-Schmidt. Honestly, if it goes to game 5, I'd much rather see an unproven Gil than Rodon who you can pretty much count on shitting the bed. I'd like to disagree with this, but I don't think I can. Not after this game. The idea of an unproven rookie pitcher with command issues in a deciding game is scary, but not as scary as Rodon and his actual proven track record and command issues.

OK, once again bad hitting with RISP early, a bit of bad luck with hard hit balls finding fielders in the later innings, but whatever the reason, Yanks didn't do nearly enough at the plate to win. Rodon was fine for the first two innings, weakened in the 3rd and collapsed in the 4th. Yanks held to one HR for the 2nd straight game, same as the Royals and if the Yanks can't win the HR battle, they won't win the series. Royals pitching was not that dominant, but good enough. Yanks needed to take advantage of Ragans, who was not on top of his game, and didn't. He'll likely be better if it comes to game 5 back at the Stadium. OK, going to catch up with notifications now. Gifted as many base-on-balls as we have thus far, we've got to make the opposition pay with at least one RISP big hit. Like I said earlier 2 for 20 with runners on tonight. Another stat Yankees have tied the pitchers record for most strikeouts by pitchers of all time Yankees through 2 games.

He has so much trouble controlling his emotions when something goes wrong. One bad slider to a Yankee killer in Sal Perez, and he then compounds mistakes. Gil may lose the strike zone at times, but as a rookie he has shown better composure on the mound overall. Yeah, he just couldn't stop the bleeding in the 4th. He had the bottom of the lineup at the plate and still couldn't get out of the inning.

Kevin Brown? Jack McDowell? Rodon can look like a freight train for a couple of innings, then a taste of adversity and he comes unglued. So frustrating.

Well, we only had Black-Jack McDowell for one season, and he did give us over 200+ innings and 8 complete games with a 3.93 ERA. Kevin Brown certainly could melt-down, but we had him when he was ages 39 and 40, ending his career. Some guys just cannot pitch in New York when it counts. Maybe Javier Vázquez, whom we had twice.

Obv wish they won this one, but with the lefty going this was the most likely game of the series they would lose even though the lefty was out by the 5th inning. If you look beyond the loss though they were making contact all night and the Royals lineup didn't do much of anything outside of the 4th inning as I said the Yankees tied a team record for pitcher strikeouts in the first 2 games of a series so far. I don't feel like the Yankees looked dominated in this game or anything. They struck out 15 royals tonight and only walked 2.
Theres still a lot of positives here, but Judge needs to get going obv.

Just because you paid $100 a pound for baloney don't make it tenderloin. I ranted for weeks on the old YES boards when the Yankees paid that kind of money for him. The man has no chestnuts.

We really need the big fella to be himself, unless we have at least two or three Brian Doyle performances in the bank.
