I am not remotely interested in your negative posts. You are a misanthrope, Sir. Just place me on ignore. Vaya con Dios. Wow, misanthrope thats a good word you don't hear everyday. Nice job Rizz! A good thing I have found is just to use the ignore function on posters who insist on going after you personally. Speaking as another poster who got tired of being called negative because they disagreed with the decisions of senior management at the Yankees

Nothing you can really do about that one. Quite a few bad called strike 3's and just so many balls right at someone. Royals had one good inning and it held. Still like the Yankees chances. the yankees getting about 5 hits compared to 11 for kc had nothing to do with it

I just try to enjoy a game and hope they pull out the win. Sometimes they look so lifeless and lackadaisical. Trashman builds regular season powerhouses that fold in the end. If Soto leaves and Cole opts out this team will be a disaster. We need someone running this organization that can build young talent into hungry MLB stars.

One batter away from Juan Soto... Maybe the Dodgers know what they're doing having Ohtani lead off, no one is getting more plate appearances on that team than him. 50 stolen bases probably influenced this decision as well.

Just looking at Lugo's 2 starts vs the Yankees he pitched 7 innings in both one of them it was 4-0 Yankees by the 4th inning the other the Yankees got shut out 5-0.
One common thing in both in the win in KC the Yankees had 1 walk in the loss at Yankee Stadium they had 0 walks.
Therefore they might need to change their approach a bit as getting a bunch of baserunners on walks probably isn't going to work here.
They historically play pretty well there. They have won every season series since 2009 except for two and one of those was 2023 where they ended the season there and didn't care since they were eliminated.
Get to Lugo early and get to the Royals bullpen seems like the plan here.

Kay really ripping the team on the post game. Flaherty didn't like Jazz in an interview said they had some bad hitting luck today. Kay said he didn't feel like they were hitting anything hard and didnt know what Jazz was talking about. For the first half of the game, Kay was right, but they hit 5 or 6 balls hard in the last 4 innings: the Chisholm HR, the flyball to the track in left by Soto, the line outs to the track in right by Berti and Volpe, Stanton's DP grounder was scorched at 110, but Witt dove and got it and that's an easy DP with Stanton running. The box score at Baseball Savant said the Yanks had 15 hard-hit balls on the game; the Royals 13. XBA is sometimes misleading, but the Royals' team XBA was .272 and the Yanks' was .276. Yankees pitchers struck out 15 Royals, Royals' pitchers struck out 8 Yankees hitters. The Yanks got outplayed and won game 1. The Yanks didn't outplay the Royals tonight, but they didn't get decisively outplayed either. The Royals bunched their hits in one in inning on Rodon, the Yanks didn't really bunch anything. The Royals had 4 more hits, the Yanks had 3 more walks. Again, when they slump, they don't hit HRs, and they don't hit with RISP. I expect Lugo to throw a great game, so it's on Schmidt now to keep it close for 5 innings in game 3.

A lot of Ohtani's stolen bases were stat padding garbage that had little effect on the game. He hits leadoff because he's their best hitter.

They just need to step up and get some big hits, it doesn't have to be a lot of them, but they shouldn't need a lot of them with their bullpen, which is performing well.

Stanton had 27 HR's and 72 RBI's in just 417 at bats. That's actually good production from a DH. It's not Ohtani or Alvarez production but it's still good.

just flat out got beat. one bad inning. game over. lots of hard hit balls but right at 'em. rodon started out like a house on fire. almost think he started off too amped & strong and burned himself out. excellent job by the pen Rodon reminded me of an inexperienced marathon runner that flies out of the gate all gung ho, going at a way too fast pace. By mile 20 or inning 4, he's exhausted.

An experienced pitcher should know better. I know it can be tough for athletes to control emotions at time but it was the first inning with a long way to go and he was behaving like he had just closed the game out.

Rodon is a middle reliever with a #1 starter contract.
