We bitch a lot about Stanton. But the guy shows up in October. He gets hurt, he can’t run, doesn’t play the field, etc. But besides maybe Soto, he’s the guy you want up right now

Yanks get a decent start from Schmidt, great relief pitching from Holmes, Kahnle and Weaver for the last 13 outs, and an elite clutch game from Stanton to edge the Royals 3-2.
Game 4 is tomorrow. Gerrit Cole tries not to cause "season over" for the 3rd time this year, he starts for the Yanks. Cole was 8-5 with a 3.41 ERA in the regular season, had a subpar outing in game 1 of the season, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 2 BB and 4 K in 5 innings, but the team got him off the hook. Michael Wacha, 13-8 with a 3.35 ERA starts for Kansas City. He wasn't on top of his game in game 1 either, going just 4 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 runs (earned), walking 3 and striking out 3.
I think Cole will be much better, but so might Wacha.

Rangers wound up pounding the Penguins, 6-0 in Pittsburgh, if anyone cares.
And speaking of things hockey, 3 stars of the game is next, and the only hard decision will likely be which of the three relievers I leave out...
