Bob, again, it's MLB/entertainment. So your cartoon drawing applies to MLB in general, including some baseball related things that annoy you. Guess it all depends on one's perspective... Costas himself has faced backlash for what many fans perceive as a hidden bias toward the Yankees. In Game 2, when the Royals executed an inning-ending double play with the Yankees down 4-1, Costas seemed to defend Giancarlo Stanton, the batter involved in the play. “Hit to short, Whit gets the force, can they turn two? Yes, they can, and it’s just the point we’re making—it’s not Giancarlo’s fault,” Costas remarked, which irked some fans for sounding overly sympathetic toward the Yankees’ slugger.fansided.com/baseball-fans-have-so-many-reasons-to-hate-on-yuli-gurriel-but-bob-costas-shouldn-t?utm_source=RSS

If Costas compared Judge to Boone, he owed it to casual fans to put Judge's work in context. Yeah...I don't follow that reasoning at all. I'll return to the topic as the series is over and we got time fo the next round. My point on Costas is that thousands of other guys were already saying what Costas was saying. As a HOF broadcaster, I expected Costas to be better than posters here or the guys who operate thousands of sites. Teach us something ! Give us information we did not get from a hundred other places. Show us why you got to the HOF and I got no further than posting on this board ! He didn't do that. What he did was repeat a glib observation. It wasn't even his line. I expected better.

Costas is now an old man. Just as Albert Pujols isn’t making the HOF based on his last five seasons of work, but on his first half of his career, Costas has earned the right to bat .240 as an announcer. He still knocks in his 100 runs for me. Hell, he can wear a Yankee hat while he does the game. I’d be good with that… 🤓

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of his work in the past, and many baseball documentaries where I've seen interviewed. But now, hearing his constant innuendos about Judge being a post-season failure, not only aggravates me, but it actually embarrasses me (for him). Because he's now starting to sound like a rambling old sour puss, rather than the professional baseball commentator he once was.

I don't care for Costas' announcing style, but the whining of fans that he's "pro-Yankee/anti-Yankee" (depending on perspective) is ridiculous.

Costas made the decision to use the dumb comparison of Boone to Judge. Once he did, he should have done something intelligent, My personal view is that I am fine with straight reporting. I've got better sources to learn about baseball history available.

Yeah, I think what most of these announcers want is a great game that goes down to the last pitch. They got that for the most part in this series.

“I’ve never seen such vitriolic hatred toward a guy. I’m not being hyperbolic, and you guys could both correct me if I’m wrong. Bob Costas is one of the greatest sports broadcasters that has ever lived. Alright? Now, if you listen to Bob Costas call a baseball game, cause he used to be the backup to [Vin] Scully, and then he took over the number one job. If you listen to him call those games then, he called them the same way then as he calls them now. Understated. Kinda teaching you as he goes along. All of that. I think that the industry has changed. But to see these young people on social media eviscerating a broadcasting god… You can say, ‘Hey, I don’t like the cut of his jib, but he stinks.’ You’re out of your minds!” ~~~Michael Kay www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/yankees-broadcaster-defends-bob-costas/ar-AA1s38KE?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=9bbaaa20b119485ad9cf143915b8a9b5&ei=22

I would have said the same thing if he would have said that when it came to hitting, Thomson and Mazeroski have more forever postseason moments than Mays and Kiner.
