It's interesting to read what was going on, for sure...What a pathetic "famous" person to have born on my birthday. I had never even heard of him before. I do remember people singing "Oh, mien Papa" during my childhood...and found it to be an annoying song...For one thing, my older brother used to sing it, and there has probably never been a less desirable singing voice in world history...not to mention that he couldn't carry a tune with his head in a bucket...I guess for all of us, whatever was happening on our birthday was stuff that seemed like "old time stuff" by the time we were old enough to be aware of it... He was a race car driver. He died in 1986 at Le Mans during a race. |
