Why Trevino and Berti in this game? Bonne headscratcher moves. Because Boyd has a severe split of pitching much better against lefties. .230 BAVG vs. righties, .143 vs. lefties. And Trevino has the only RBI. |

Swings over a slider down and in, 0-2
Cutter inner 3rd pulled sharply foul off 1st.
Cutter in the zone up and in, pulled hard, but foul into the stands behind 1st.
Curve inside middle is bounced, bounced well in front of home, kicks off Wells' arm, gets away. 1-2
Back leg slider almost hits his feet, 2-2
Curve at the bottom in the middle, lined past 1st into the right field corner for a 2 out double.
I don't think he'll be stealing 3rd, with J. Naylor up, but you never know.

Clarke "4 2/3" Schmidt taken out with guess what? 2 outs in the 5th.

Another pretty good outing for Schmidt, but unfortunately his offense let him down.

OK, Gameday confirms Hill into the game.
He should be swinging early, as Hill can't blow it by him.
Naylor is 0-6 vs. Hill, but with 0 K's. Or anything else besides "outs".

Sinker at the high outside corner, fouled off. No surprise he went after the first pitch.
Sinker inside, bounced foul off 1st, 0-2
Tries to go up the ladder, but too high to get a chase, not close, 1-2
Sinker above the inner 3rd, he goes for it and is late and under, popped to left, Verdugo drifts toward the line, catches, inning over.
Hill gets the job done, top 6, 2-1 Guardians.
Cade Smith coming in to pitch to Soto-Judge-Stanton. If he gets them, he probably gets the 7th as well.
