Hill does his job. What a year for him, going from the worst team in baseball to one of the best and getting plenty of post season action.

Soto faced him once and walked
Judge is 1-1, a double
Stanton 0-1 with a BB.
This series:
In game 2. Soto was intentionally walked, Judge hit a sac fly, Stanton grounded to short.

Soto fouls off a FB above middle, and he was late and under.
Splitter to the knees near middle, taken and he doesn't like the call, but it was 40-50% at Gameday
Takes his timeout.
FB at the high outside corner at 95, but he chops it to the left of 2nd, Rocchio fields, throws him out, 1 down.

We started good. But have been retired the last I think 11 in a row. Trevino had an RBI single but then got picked off costing us a second run as there was a runner on third with one out. |

Takes FB at the 1st pitch, fouled back. Sigh.
Splitter dives low and in, Judge swings over for the K, 2 down.

Cade Smith is better than Tim Hill. But, that doesn't mean they both can't put up zeroes.

Stanton takes a FB thigh high, outside middle, 0-1 Stanton takes another almost in the same spot, 0-2.  FB tails inside and ties him up, might have broken the bat, grounder down 3rd, fields on the grass back of 3rd, takes his time with Stanton running, still throws him out by plenty, inning over. 10 pitch 1-2-3 for Smith in the 6th, so he'll be back out for the 7th, I think. Not sure. Bottom 6, 2-1 Guardians. |
