Was there a question about that? I shut the TV off not long after it ended. Really? You waited that long? The moment I heard the crack of the bat, and knew Holmes was pitching, I shut it off. I can't handle the fan roar during road losses. My big pain is that in order to do their jobs fairly, the neutral network announcers have to scream in joy over a brutal Yankees loss. My mood is already bad enough to listen to that schitte.

Weaver's Christmas Gift to Noel was the crusher BUT didn't Boone learn Holmes is a setup man NOT closer. Series is far from over and we are still 1 game up but after Soto, Judge, and Stanton energized the entire team and momentum of the series this loss was painful. To be fair even if Holmes shuts them out in the 10th the game isn't over. They need to score the next inning and then hold them the next bottom inning. The only other pitchers they could have used is cousins and Stroman? Guessing they were saving cousins for the 11th close spot if they scored. Do you trust Stroman there? To me, the big question is how Weaver and especially Holmes handle their crushing blown save/loss. Weaver was invincible since becoming the closer, and now he's been vinced. Does he lose confidence? And Holmes always goes into a tailspin after a bad blown save or a loss. Without those two, the Yankees have no bullpen to speak off right now, and their starters aren't strong enough to carry the extra load.

OK, I think I've caught up with the notifications, so I'm going to go have a late dinner and sulk for a while. SULK SULK SULK SULK SULK SULK. See you all again tomorrow for game 4. I'll be very impressed if the Yanks take this heavy blow and come back with a good game, and maybe a bit surprised, too. Good night to all. Bye.

Everyone is a little down right now, but just remember how fun the top of the 8th was! We'll be back tomorrow.

Momentum is only as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher and Gil will shut them down! Like the royals loss it sucked but going in this game was a likely loss with the lefty. Sucks how it turns out since they overcame the deficit and had the lead with two outs but the guardians bullpen is spent. Yankees didn't use everyone. Win tomorrow and close it out with Cole in game 5. Dunno if it was mentioned here but Alex Cobb is off Cleveland's roster so it would likely be his replacement Ben lively who hasn't pitched in 3 weeks himself or Bibee in 3 days rest. Yankees still have the upper hand here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

good lord what a crushing loss. played tonight. checked when i could. saw us up 1-0, then down 3-1. then up 4-3. figured it was in the bag. as i was leaving shocked to see us lose 7-5. wtf?!? seems like it was a great game. big time implosion. don't even wanna read the comments here ...
interestingly both bullpens gave it up including the previously invincible clase who now has given it up twice this PS and has a 9.00 era. judge w game tying blast off him. followed by stanton w the lead hr. huge. he continues to be the PS mvp, hitting the lead HR. after the tack on gleyber's sac fly. had to think this was in the win column. wrong ...
maybe weaver giving a hr the previous game was a sign of things to come. looks like he hung a change tonite. perhaps he'd been doing too many of these multi-inning games. same w kahnle. holmes had been so good but not tonight. a sinker that didn't sink.
sucks but this team has been down this road too many times this season and has been resilient.

I Keep thinking how they were only 1 out away from winning it in the bottom of the 9th. one strike away. Anyone remember when the Sox were 1 strike away from winning the World Series in 86, during Mookie Wilson's at bat? Hey that's baseball.

Fry takes a sinker low and outside, 1-0 FB, inside corner above the waist, taken, 1-1 Sinker dropping thigh high, or below, in the middle, fouled off, 1-2 Hanging sinker above and inside middle, and Fry crushes it to deep left, two run HR gives the Yankees a crushing loss, 7-5, and maybe turns the whole series around. And now the Guardians have belted both the Yanks top two relievers, their fragile aura of invincibilty shattered and they might lose Holmes as an effective pitcher after another big failure and loss. Fought off crushing HRs from Judge and Stanton, took a win away that the Yanks took from Clase. This is a disastrous loss, potentially. Devastating. It could have been different had Boone gone to Holmes early instead of Mayza. didn't see the game but looking at the box and going through the play-by-play, agree about using at least someone else there. probably didn't wanna burn holmes that early in a game we were losing. maybe cousins instead. ultimately moot since both weaver and holmes spit the bit.
and w hamilton possibly out, the bullpen suddenly gets very short. if they have to replace him, maybe it's nestor?

Which is exactly why I mute the TV volume, and tune in to the WFAN Sports Radio stream (even if there is a sound delay of a minute or so). Win or lose, I would rather share the feelings John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman have watching the game, than the idiot announcers they give us on TV. Remember when the networks (ABC and NBC) used to cover the playoffs and World Series game nationally, and WPIX-channel 11 would cover it with their announcers (Bill White, Phil Rizzuto and Frank Messer) for the New York area? Too bad they stopped doing that!

This game was a "rest" mode game from the beginning with the lineup etc. Just play your best players it's not hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally, I still believe the series is the Yanks for the taking. I am concerned about Weaver. He was hit hard in the second game, but got out of it. This game, Rameriz smoked him, Naylor hit the ball hard but right back to Weaver to the DP. He had Thomas 0-2, then walked him, which was the real killer to me. Then gave a cookie to Joel. I guess you could say the same for Clase giving up two HRs...
On to tomorrow...
