Cutter inner 3rd, lined down 1st, Berti leaps but it's off the top of his mitt, lands in short right for a leadoff single.
Rocchio continues to hit everything.

Terrible location on that slider, but Kwan was taking.
Sinker well outside, 1-1
Slider hangs inside middle, hit hard deepish right of center, Judge goes back and left a few steps, catches, 1 down.

And how about Berti's fielding at 1B? He's playing the position almost (I saw that slight collision) like he's been playing it his whole life! Inexperience nearly cost them on the grounder by Gimenez, because he didn't know where Torres was, and went for that grounder instead of going right to the bag, almost colliding hard with the batter coming down from home. I expect to see Rizzo replace him as soon as they knock this lefty out of the game. |

Manzarso takes a sinker on the corner away above the knees, 0-1
Sinker misses just outside, up in the zone, close, but a ball, missed by an inch on Gameday, 1-1
Tries to back door a slider, stays outside 2-3 inches, 2-1
Cutter misses the high outside corner by 2-3 inches, 3-1
Terrible sinker below and inside middle, and Manzardo crushes it way back in the lower deck seats in right, 2-run HR makes it 2-1 Guardians.
Can't keep leaving a bunch of pitches in or near the middle of the zone, Schmidt.

Ramirez goes, the throw is low, but Torres takes the throw, called safe, Torres wants them to challenge, and it's very close. Is his hand over the bag, or on it? Not sure.
FB missed high, so if he's safe, it's 1-0 on Thomas.
