Very very close, probably not clear enough to overturn. He can't keep the tag on for the over-slide because he has to get the throw in front and right of the bag. Call stands.

How many baserunning blunders until you actually hold the team accountable? Hard to hold them accountable when you're up 2-0 in the series. But it's a problem.

Got stuck at work and catching up. I said I don't want Trevino starting but since I said it he will hit.

Winning covers faults, I missed the play but very frustrating to lose runs on constant baserunning blunders all season.

Slider for a strike in the zone, low/away, 1-1 on Thomas. Cutter near the top, he's under it, 1-2. Slider well outside, Thomas spits on it, 2-2 Sinker misses just outside, Trevino tried to pull it back, no sale, and it missed by an inch or two on Gameday. Schmidt start to walk off, has to go back. Cutter on the outer 3rd, hard chopped to short, Volpe fields on the outfield grass, has to bounced the throw, but Berti makes a brilliant scoop AND split for the stretch and they barely get Thomas for the 3rd out. Outstanding play by Berti to save the throw and end the inning.
Top 4, 2-1 Guardians, who can probably start going to the good guys in their pen some time in this inning if Vogt feels they need to. 30 pitches for Schmidt in the 3rd, 51 through 3.
Chisholm, Berti and Volpe for the Yanks in the 4th.

Berti takes a change low, ball 1. Barely checked in time. 1st base ump says no swing. Takes a change at the knees in the middle, 1-1 Very slow curve inside middle taken, 1-2 Takes his timeout FB misses well high near the corner away, 2-2 FB above middle, swung under for the K, 2 down.

Volpe gets a crazy break on the 1st pitch, slider in the zone 100% near the bottom called ball 1. FB up and in, taken, 2-0 Sinker on the outside corner, taken, 2-1 Takes his timeout. Change waist high, outside corner, rolled over to Rocchio, easy play, throws him out, inning over.
Bottom 4, 2-1 Guardians Outstanding shutdown inning for Boyd in the 4th, a K and two easy groundouts, 12 pitch 1-2-3 for the 2nd inning in a row, and 67 through 4. Schneemann, Gimenez and Hedges for Cleveland in their half of the 4th inning.

How hard is it to teach basic baserunning A-B-C's to these guys? They shouldn't have to be taught, this is stuff you learn in little league.

When (if) they finally lose the pennant. Geez coco… enough with negativity! You sound like an old biddy! I wasn't being negative, I was giving the correct answer. If the Yankees win it all, fans will forget the baserunning blunders. If they lose, it will be the major news until next season.

Schneemann...
Slider at the knees in the middle, taken, 0-1 Curve at the same height, outer 3rd, not called, maybe because Trevino had to go down with the middle, 10-20% on Gameday so a poor call, 1-1 Curve backs well up and away, 2-1 Cutter takes a waist high cutter, outer 3rd, 2-2 Curve below middle, breaks hit bat, rolls toward Volpe, who charges, fields and throws him out, 1 down.
