They have to stop running to fucking bullpen !!!!! Gil was pitching fine !!! Get us much as you can out of the Starters .... The Bullpen is shot ! Gil was all over the place. He got through four innings. Another is gambling it. Cleveland is into their bullpen in the 3rd inning for the millionth time they're shot too. The Bullpen has been the biggest gamble of the series

Situationally, that would be a good strategy. By situationally I mean I still don't trust Stroman with anything less than a 3 run lead. He was absolutely DREADFUL after the AS break and pretty much unusable by September. He had that run of 5-6 starts where he was serviceable then just all downhill. Yeah, he had a couple of good starts sprinkled in, but in total he was terrible after the AS break. I posted the numbers somewhere on the board a couple of weeks ago, but i remember his ERA was right around 6.00 and his WHIP was a tick under 2.000 while hitters were batting him around at around .350. It's been really bad. He allowed 31 hits in just 15.1 innings in September. Maybe (hopefully) the time off rebooted him?

OK, Yanks blow the 6-2 lead, but rally to win with 2 in the 9th. Big HRs early from Soto, Wells and Stanton, big smallball in the 9th from Rizzo, Volpe and Torres, going with pitches instead of trying to pull them, and getting rewarded with hits. Even Verdugo deserves some kudos; Clase's cutter up and in ties up lefties but he made enough contact that the go-ahead run would've scored even without Rocchio's boot, earning him an RBI. Holmes was a trainwreck again, as I expected. He does this after every meltdown and it takes him 2-3 weeks to put the pieces back together. But Hill, Cousins, Leiter and Kahnle basically did their jobs, and the Yanks toughed it out to take a 3-1 lead, heading to game 5 tomorrow.

Rodon and Stroman may be a good combination tomorrow. Situationally, that would be a good strategy. By situationally I mean I still don't trust Stroman with anything less than a 3 run lead. He was absolutely DREADFUL after the AS break and pretty much unusable by September. It's possible it might go the other way, Stroman in slag-arm mop-up after a poor Rodon start. Hope not, but always a possibility with Rodon.

You never have a clue which Rodon you're gonna get, so him going in what is pretty much a must win game is more stress than i feel like enduring.

totally exhausted. 3-1 in the driver's seat. don't know where to start. what happened last night wasn't gonna effect this team. no hangover. ballplayers change the page.
the big takeaways. so far we've proved the invincible cleveland horsemen very vincible. clase failed again. roughed up smith as well. but as the announcers keep saying, when you see the same relievers every day, batters can figure them out. plus fatigue is a factor. these are very high stress innings. obviously there's still one more game to win so get another opportunity for redemption.
so many heros. the bottom of the lineup ultimately won the game against clase. but gonna give potg to stanton for his huge 3-run HR to give us the 6-2 lead. soto an honorable for the HR in the 1st to get us on the board. wells hit a big HR. gleyber another good all around game with a big hit in the 9th. rizzo w 2 hits and starting off the rally w the oppo hit against clase. 2 hits for volpe. and verdugo put the ball in the play to give us the lead run.
somehow gil got through 4. FB velo lacking as was command but finished strong. hopefully a growing experience for him. gonna give an honorable for closing it on a nite when boone was staying from weaver to kahnle. 44 changeups. how does he do it. great job by hill who's been very solid. and leiter who wasn't even the roster shuts down things in the 7th and allows a run on the misplay of the dribbler. but a clutch job getting 5 outs. good inning by cousins but ran into trouble in his 2nd. holmes was in the be goat.
let's end this tomorrow w rodon.
