qwik3457bb I haven't really followed the guardians all year other than knowing their record was close to the Yankees.
Did have an injury to their rotation or something? It just seems so weird to me their starting rotation is so weak and they did nothing about it in a trade or something?
Obv their bullpen is good but no team can win if the bullpen is in the third inning over and over.

Hasn't pitched in almost three weeks, needs command to be effective, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yeah, he's clearly a use when only necessary option. Somehow, it became necessary late in the game...

Tactical lead; strategic deficit because of the difference in the bullpens in a 1-run game. That's just my opinion, of course. Ok but let's not act like the Yankees bullpen is bad either... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Actually, it's more like both pens were bad tonight. Edit: Actually, the Guardians never had the lead to blow, but they were coming from behind all night, and finally tied it up, only for their closer to immediately blow the tie in the next inning.

Most of the rotation that opened the season was demoted to AAA in the 2nd half: Triston McKenzie, Carlos Carrasco and Logan Allen.

Sinker waist high, outside corner, 10% strike is called on Kwan. 0-1 Exact same pitch, same spot, same 10% strike, 0-2 Bounces the slider over home, 1-2 Sinker near the top of the zone, spoiled. Slider at the knees in the middle, lined to right foe a single, Soto cuts it off, holds it to a single, but Rocchio gets to 3rd without a play. And THAT is why you challenge Rocchio on 3-1, Cousins. Boone goes to take out Cousins, giving him a 2nd try against Fry. Risky move by Boone, counting on lighting not striking twice in a row in the same matchup. 1st and 3rd, nobody out, Holmes in, Fry up with Ramirez on deck as the potential tying run. Let's see if Holmes has any stones at all. It was a perfect inning to bring in Holmes. Seventh inning, four-run lead. Yeah, probably would've been better to go right to him with the big lead. He'd have stood a chance of getting through it and rebuilding confidence.

Noel is 0-1 vs. Leiter for what it's worth. All he got was Christmas Eve. Warning track… Hope it made his heart flutter. It made mine...

Torres takes his timeout... Cutter outer 3rd, lined to center for a hit!! Volpe scores, Verdugo to 2nd, 8-6, Yanks!!! Soto up, and the pitching coach Willis goes to talk to Clase. Good job not trying to pull that one, Gleyber. Great professional swing. Reminds me of Lou Piniella, Roy White, Munson and Chambliss from the 1970s Yankees Champs. Young Rizzuto emulated Thurman and Pinella at that plate. Always thought up the middle and right field. Only pulled hanging breaking balls. Anything else was a mistake on my part. It's a solid approach for all but the most talented hitters, like Soto, Betts, Ohtani, and Ramirez.

Well, overtime in Stanley Cup Hockey is right up there. Especially in game 7. Prob even worse since other team never gets a chance to match the score in OT. I've felt this way since game 5 of the first round of the 1984 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Rangers vs. Islanders at the Nassau Coliseum. The Islanders were the better team, looking to try to win their 5th Stanley Cup in a row, The Rangers were 4th in the Patrick Division; the Islanders first, but they were 11 points better, or about 5 games in the standings. The series was tied 2-2, and the Rangers scored with 39 seconds left in regulation to force it into overtime. At some point in the overtime, I remember Rangers' defenseman Reijo Ruotsalainen ripped a slap shot from near the blue line. It shouldn't have had a chance of going in, but the Islanders' great goalie Billy Smith was partially screened, and the shot beat Smith clean...only to miss wide a bit more than a puck width. A couple of minutes later, the Islanders came down the ice and Ken Morrow scored the series-winner. The Rangers missed dethroning the 4-time champs by about 6 inches, and the series was lost a few minutes after that. Nothing in all of sports like sudden-death overtime in the Stanley Cup playoffs, especially in a winner-take-all game 5 or game 7. The chances back and forth, the great plays, the great stops with the season on the line. The penalties called or not called. Nothing like it in all of sports
