Oh Berti is injured? I missed that somehow:
The Yankees announced their World Series roster prior to Game 1 against the Dodgers on Friday night in Los Angeles, selecting left-hander Nestor Cortes and removing infielder Jon Berti, who is unavailable due to a right hip flexor strain.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Berti sustained the injury running the bases in ALCS Game 4, and he was not available to play in the series finale.
“Unfortunately, time ran out for him to be ready. So that's a blow for us,” Boone said. “I feel for him because he was playing a really important role for us, especially in those first two rounds.”

It’s going to be another tough one. I don’t expect Yoshi to be in the game much longer before Doc goes to the pen. They've been slowly increasing the pitch count his first 3 starts: 60, 63, 73. I figure they'll let him throw 80 unless the Yanks solve him first.

Maybe Smoltz will stop calling Soto a supporting player. I wish Judge would be a supporting player at this point. Exactly

Rojas takes a FB on the high outside corner, 0-1 Fouls off a FB up and away, 0-2 Takes his timeout Takes a FB high near middle, 1-2 FB at the top in the middle, fouled off. Change inside corner ties him up a bit, his pop fly to shortish right center is handled by Soto, 1 down.

Ohtani takes a slider outside, ball 1 FB above the zone, outer half, fouled off, 1-1 FB misses outside by an inch or two, waist high, Rodon got a break, called strike 2. 0% on Gameday, bad call.

Pinstripe Alley @pinstripealley · 1m There is something darkly amusing that we're getting the inverse of the A-Rod/Jeter thing where this time, the homegrown icon can't hit in the playoffs and the superstar acquired in a trade is doing it all

Slider dives across outside, not so much down, and Ohtani opens up early and whiffs, 1 down.

That's what the Yankees need in this series from Judge and Soto.

I wish Judge would be a supporting player at this point. Exactly We've seen Judgie slump before... at least he didn't strike out this at a bat! Maybe that's a sign! 🤞

FB to the outside corner waist high, Betts fouls it off, 0-1 Tries to drop a curve in, hangs high, taken, 1-1 Doesn't finish a slider, so it also hangs up and away, 2-1 Change clips the bottom of the zone, inner half, not called. Marginal, about 10% on Gameday, a bit of a bad break for Rodon. 97 FB waist high, outer 3rd, pulled through the 56 hole for a 2 out single for Betts.
