If they tack on anymore runs this inning, I'll be having 1976 nightmares for the rest of the night.

More of the same. Except for Soto who put good wood on the ball, NOTHING else.

that grounder was 119.5 mph not that that's any consolation It is. That tells me Stanton is still putting good wood on the ball. The next one he just might get in the air.

Smith...
Takes a cutter about a foot outside, 1-0 Takes a cutter high again, about 3 inches, 2-0 Cutter outside middle, and Smith, gets under it, high fly to deep right, but Soto settles on the track, catches, 1 down. Just missed another HR for the Dodgers.

Ferris Buehler isn't going to dominate the team tonight. Second time through may be his undoing.

Sinker misses outside to Lux, 1-0 Sinker catches the outside corner above the waist, taken, 1-1 Slider backs up outside, 2-1. All 3 pitches up in this at bat so far. Curve breaks over the outer half above the knees, taken, 2-2 Sharp dropping curve down and in, swung over for the K, 2 down.

Is Cole going to pitch tomorrow? Doubt it. Not if the Yanks win, certainly.

Nice bounce back inning for Schmidt. Can anyone beyond the top 4 do anything for the Yankees?

Schmidt gets a break, cutter 3 inches outside called a strike, not close, 0% on Gameday by plenty. Takes a curve low, 1-1 Curve into the upper part of the zone, fouled, 1-2 Sinker up and in, chased and swung under for the K, inning over.
Bottom 2nd, 2-0 Dodgers Much better 2nd inning for Schmidt, a 12 pitch 1-2-3, and 35 through 2.
Chisholm, Rizzo and Volpe for the Yanks in their half of the 2nd inning.

Lift and separate? Wasn't that a bra commercial in the 70s?
