This is the WS and the Dodgers are playing like it. Yankees are playing like they did during their regular season slump. Maybe the Dodgers are making them play that way. The Dodgers' starting pitchers have all pitched to the top of their games, despite their injuries and rehabbing status coming in. That's certainly true, but I have liked the Yankees approach this game much better thus far than the first two of this series. |

Schmidt looks in, they tell him to step off to check Edman back to first.
Edman goes, sinker outer 3rd, rolled over to Torres in the 34 hole, he plays it on the side again, turns and throws him out, Edman to 2nd with 1 down for Betts.

Cutter hangs above the inner 3rd, Betts checks in time, 1-0
Sinker dives inside, Betts spits on it, 2-0
Cutter catches the high outside corner, called a strike, 20-25% on Gameday, 2-1
Curve stays above middle, Betts fouls it off the right side, 2-2
Sinker inner 3rd, popped foul near the dugout, Rizzo reaches into the camera well, can't reach it, giving Betts another swing.
Slider just outside near the top, Betts spoils. 12-pitch arm-killer in progress?

I was yelling stay in, stay in!! on that foul pop, but it didn't.
Cutter misses 4-5 inches outside, not close, called ball 3. Crowd groans but 0% and not close.
Sinker below and outside middle, fouled off.
9th pitch of the at bat coming.
Schmidt comes set, then thinks about it and steps off.
Curve up and in, ties him up a bit, but he flares it over 1st, Soto has no shot, falls for a single, Edman reads it perfectly and scores without hesitation, 3-0 Dodgers. Yanks in big trouble here.
