Either score at least 4 or don't score any... I am not into moral victories... 4-1, 4-2, or 4-3 are still losses..

I am happy we got to the WS for the first time in 15 years I doubt we will beat an elite pitching staff with Cashman's view that walks and home runs are all you need offensively. Possibly that is true against bad pitchers - not in the WS. Next year he will ignore the offensive problems and go out and buy another pitcher. Noetesi common now you are being crazy. They scored 815 runs this year which lead the AL and 3rd in MLB behind Arizona 886 and the Dodgers 842. 4th in the AL in avg 9th overall, 1st AL/3rd overall in OBP, 2nd/4th in SLG, 1st/3rd in OPS, 4th/11th in hits, 1st in MLB in HR, 1st in MLB in walks. Thats a 142 run improvement from last year. They do this every post season since 2005 other than 2009 obv. The bats all of a sudden can't score when they need to. It doesn't seem to matter who is on the team, how good the team is etc. You can't have a much better offense put together than the one they have. Wells who had so many key hits in the season got put in the cleanup spot has gone missing, Jazz who hit double digits hr since he got here hasn't done much of anything, Verdugo has no consistency, Dominguez was mismanaged and never got his timing down, Judge can't stop striking out etc.

Volpe takes a FB up and in, 1-0 Takes a get it over FB above and inside middle at 97, 1-1 FB up in the zone outside middle, fouled off, 1-2 Volpe swings at...I have no idea why. It was way up and inner half, and if that a FB he's way late and under, but it was a slider and he was still way under. THERE'S NO REASON FOR VOLPE TO SWING AT THAT PITCH. DUMB HITTING.

Rizzo takes a FB down and in, ball 1. Takes a FB high, 2-0 Takes another almost to the same spot down and in, 3-0 FB in the zone for a strike, inner 3rd, waist high, 3-1 FB gets a tiny piece of the low inside corner, not called, a break for Rizzo and the Yanks, ball 4. 5-10% on Gameday.

When was the last time a team was down 3-0 and came back to win the WS??????? Never. Never even got to Game 7 in a World Series. Only times are both in the ALCS. Red Sox won their game 7 in 2004, Houston lose theirs in 2020.

FB inside waist high, taken for a strike, 0-1 on Wells Takes a slider low, 1-1 Chase that exploding FB high, Wells, chase it! Swung under, 1-2, 99 on that one. Takes his timeout. FB above and outside middle at 100, a good pitch to hit by location, late and under, fouled off. Bounces the slider inside, he stupidly skips out of the way, it would've hit him, goes back to the screen for a wild pitch, Rizzo to 2nd, 2-2. Cutter inner 3rd, above the waist, ties him up, popped foul near the Yankees dugout, Freeman moves left, catches, 2 down.

Chisholm... Takes a FB at the knees in the middle, 0-1 Takes a FB waist high, outside corner, 0-2 Takes his timeout. Stop arguing, Jazz, both pitches were in the zone this at bat. Slider low in the middle, lays off, 1-2 Slider down and in, he barely spoils it off his foot. FB just outside, fouled off the left side. FB up and away, chases it for the K, big hack, came up empty. Top 9, 4-0 Doddgers. 2003; that loss to the Marlins, above all, is the one I hate. More than the Angels in 2002, than the Red Sox in 2004, than the D'backs in 2001, and the Indians in 1997. If you want to know why, the reason is simple: The 2003 Yankees were the much better team, and let that entire pitching staff shut them down, not just Beckett, but guys like Pavano and Brad Penny, who were decent pitchers, nothing more, and because of Wells' stupidity in game 5. Agreed 2001 was annoying, but just bloops you couldn't do much about. This one so far first game was competitive, but this and game 2 have been mostly the same early deficit thats not insurmountable, but can't score anything. Might get close in the 9th, but can't do a thing before. As I was saying..
