Too many walks/HBP, dumb outs on the bases, etc.
This pitching is good enough to get 3 outs in an inning, but not elite enough to keep getting 4 or 5 outs in an inning constantly.
I still would have preferred the Mets though these games were all def winnable, but you cant wait til the 9th to score.
Obviously looks super bleak, but they should be favored tomorrow then Cole in 5 if they win. One game at a time.
Not expecting much obv, but geez that Game 1 stings more and more each day.

Dodgers strike early again, get the Yanks down right away 2-0 on the Freeman HR on the hanging cutter, and another in the 3rd on the professional inside out single to right by Betts, pad the lead with a single up the middle by Hernandez in the 6th. Yanks can't do anything with Buehler in 5 innings, nor off any of the other Dodgers relievers until Verdugo got a FB in a hittable spot from Kopech in the 9th. Dodgers win again, and are 3-0. How much better are the Dodgers than the Yanks so far in this Series? Twice as good, outscoring them 14-7 through 3 games.

Torres takes a FB at the top for a strike, near middle, 0-1 Slider bounced inside, 1-1 Takes a FB inner 3rd, waist high, 1-2 Slider misses outside and away, takes it, 2-2 Forced to swing at a FB below and inside, middle, bounces it up the middle, Edman fields on the left of 2nd, wheels arouns, fires a strike to Freeman, game over, and the Yankees season is almost over with another non-championship. Dodgers win 4-2. Nothing new. I suppose so. Welp, one game left to do something...anything...about it.

If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. Why would you do Cole on short rest when the Dodgers don't even have a starter?????? Save him for Game 5 if you get there. Winning Game 4 is useless if Game 5 is just Gil or something (since Rodon wouldn't be on full rest for that either).

If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. Even if he does, I hope he opts out...maybe management will have the incentive to finally create a championship team from within, instead of blowing all their money on 1 top player each year. Who besides Judge do the Yankees have, who can be considered championship material, should Cole opt out, and if they don't sign Soto? Man, that's scary.

I suppose so. Welp, one game left to do something...anything...about it. I don't think Torres beats that out if he's any faster, but we've def seen in all 3 series this year the Yankees team speed being a factor as multiple fielders have taken their time to make the play and they are still out. I'm def noticing that on ground balls this post season.

Volpe takes a FB up and in, 1-0 Takes a get it over FB above and inside middle at 97, 1-1 FB up in the zone outside middle, fouled off, 1-2 Volpe swings at...I have no idea why. It was way up and inner half, and if that a FB he's way late and under, but it was a slider and he was still way under. THERE'S NO REASON FOR VOLPE TO SWING AT THAT PITCH. DUMB HITTING. Volpe has really been a letdown this series. I thought he'd do better, given he hit so well the first two series. But he's trying to do too much. I keep waiting for him to learn to stay within himself. Ah, well, he's still very young; just 23.

Just 90.9 mph on the grounder, XBA of .090.

Just one request Boone. Do not show them freaking 2004 ALCS Highlights to try to inspire the team again like you did in 2022.

Great glove and range, but I honestly don't see him as anything more than an average hitter with some base running speed, at best.

OK...Maybe the season comes to a sad end tomorrow. Game 4 starters are "bullpen game" for the Dodgers, and Luis Gil expected to start for the Yanks. I have no idea who the Dodgers will open with except it won't be Treinen. They might risk London Knack as the opener/starter but nobody knows. If it is Gil, he was 15-7 on the season with a 3.50 ERA, and a so-so start in Game 4 of the ALCS vs. Cleveland: 4 innings, 3 hits, 2 earned runs, 3 BB and 3 K. He left the game up 3-2, but needed 79 pitches to get through the 4 innings. Yanks' pen blew the lead late, but they rallied to win in the 9th, 8-6.
OK, game preview done, I'm going to check my last notifications.

If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. They won't let Cole throw 100 pitches so he's not pitching on three days rest.

Possibly correct, but 23 is still very young for a major leaguer; he's notionally 4 years from his peak. Maybe he makes a key adjustment and things click. Maybe not.
