OK, notifications checked, and things are very quiet in the game threads now. For good reasons, I suppose.
That's going to be it for me for tonight. See you guys tomorrow evening for game 4, and if it turns out to be the end, so be it. Good night to all. Bye.

They basically are saying maybe you can get Game 4 and 5, but Kay said what helped the Red Sox in 04 is the Yankees Game 6 and 7 starters were beatable with the backup being Javy Vasquez. This time they would have to face Yamamoto and Buehler who just shut them down again... so yea it's not a great chance for sure.

The big question is: Can the Yankees win tomorrow, and keep from being swept, or make this the worst Yankees World Series team since 1976?

rinse and repeat of game two. starter not particularly sharp and makes some mistakes. bullpen holds it down but the offense is a no show. buehler did have something to do with it as he looked pretty sharp to me. finally show some life in the 9th.
other dugo's 9th inning HR, once again the only offense was by stanton. not much else to get excited about. rizzo a hit & a walk and gleyber walked twice. volpe has fallen off the wagon wearing that wide rimmed hat. judge only k'ed once and had a walk. baby steps.
schmidt not good. cousins was the only one in the bullpen who cracked.
the fork is hovering. still hoping we somehow send the series back to LA.

I don't really see any lineup changes that would help either. This rotation really misses Michael King wish they could have made the Soto trade without him. Schmidt is solid most of the time, but he's a 5 inning pitcher. King was really tuning a corner and did great for the Padres this year.

It’s been painful just to listen… For teams so evenly matched statistically I never expected 3-0. I figured worse down 2-1 going into he bullpen game which would likely be a win to tie it 2-2 and then its BO3.

not sure about being evenly matched statistically. of course in our case, our mvp has done nothing. on the other hand their mvp has done only a little more. but when i look at their lineup, i don't see a soft spot in it. the bottom 5 in ours doesn't come close. our starters were supposed to better but that hasn't been the case. interestingly we've been able to get to their bullpen a bit which was supposed to be their strength. other than nestor's one bad pitch, ours has been slightly better.
3-0 has never done in a WS. the players won't give up. they'll take it one game at a time. if we win tomorrow, then we have cole the next night. and then talk about the next day. if judge goes off, who knows. could it happen yes but not particularly optimistic.

I’m glad I didn’t pay extra to watch this horseshit… It really feels that way, doesn't it? I mean, if the Yankees lose tomorrow night, they will be the first Yankees team to go to the World Series and be swept, since the 1976 Yankees. The difference between the two teams is, as a result of the 1976 Yankees being swept, George Steinbrenner was determined to add the missing piece of the puzzle to the team, so he signed Reggie Jackson, and traded for Bucky Dent. Those moves resulted in the Yankees winning the World Series the next 2 years (1977 and 1978), understandably missing the playoffs in 1979 (due to the untimely, tragic death of Thurman Munson), then going back to the playoffs in 1980, and back to the World Series in 1981. This team however, is on a decline, due to age and lack of talent (which makes them actually getting to the World Series this season nothing short of a miracle all its own). There is no one player available in all of baseball, that the Yankees can sign for next season (including Soto) that would take this team back to the World Series stage, let alone win it! It's very frustrating, to say the least!

yeah miss king. guy has turned into a stud.

I said it like 4 posts ago. They were first in AL in a lot of offensive categories and no worse than 3rd or so in MLB in others. In most of those categories Dodgers were right in front of them so yea statistically they are even. Most experts called this a coin flip. Obviously if Dodgers had Glasnow and Kershaw at full health they would be favored way more going in.
