I'm trying to understand your thought process here, the Yankees aren't hitting because Cortez gave up a home run in game 1? You got it! What did Yogi say, "Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical." LOL Put yourself in the team's position...here you are knowing you're playing the best team in baseball, on the biggest stage, 1 out from winning game 1 of the World Series, then BOOM! Victory is taken out from under your feet. Just look at Yankee bats ever since game 1...they'll never admit it, because they probably can't see it themselves, but that shock of a loss stayed with the team for the rest of the series. So whoever thinks game ones mean nothing, are completely wrong...it means nothing if it was a regular win or loss, but it can mean everything if it was a shocker, as was the one in 2024. Of course it mean't somthing, it mean't the Dodgers had a 1-0 lead. To say the Yankees stopped hitting because of the "shock of a loss" is just plain silly. We are all frustrated with the Yankees performance in the Series but your constant drip, drip, drip of negativity is like Chinese water torture. Maybe you should take in a movie tonight at 8pm.

Fine, I can see no one likes to hear reality, so I'll buzz off and leave the message board to the Pollyannas. I'll go back to my same ritual during World Series time as I've been doing for the past 15 yrs...watching highlights of successful Yankees championship seasons of the past. It sure makes for a lot happier experience than watching the frustrations of the present, and definitely the near future of the team. Peace.

Is Aaron Judge worn out by October ? Is it possible that the stress of a 162 game season on a 275 pound body takes its toll and diminishes his performance ? Is expecting a 33 year old giant to play center, hit 58 home runs and then carry a team in the postseason unrealistic ? Good question but the fact that he seems to lose his plate discipline seems to me a bigger issue and not one related to fatigue. Yes, but he is missing some very hittable pitches.

I don't agree that the Yankees have stopped hitting because of the Cortez HR. Many of these guys weren't hitting before that happened and that includes the KC and Cleveland series. Obviously, you are entiitled to your opinion and can express it in any way you want.

Agree, it may play a factor. There has been some discussion that Wells is slumping because he's played so much more than in other seasons. At one point fairly late in the season Wells was hitting .260 and was someone who seemed to put the ball in play alot.

Shouldn't have shook off that pitch, Clark. Or shouldn't have hung it up and in, and in the zone. Either or, maybe AND. That reminds me...Saw the chart they posted on TV, the pitch Freeman hit for a HR that I thought was a good pitcher's pitch, wasn't as inside as I originally thought it was.

This is the WS and the Dodgers are playing like it. Yankees are playing like they did during their regular season slump.
Yamamoto's and Buehler's top of the rotation stuff has a lot to do with that.

Why would you send Stanton there!?!?!?!
Running in slow motion out there!
As soon as the ball was hit I said "don't send Stanton".
Can't remember the last time Stanton scored from second base on a single to LF when the LFer has a good arm.

Unless it got pinned by the leg before home. Very doubtful, but replay rule says you can't assume he touched home without seeing it clearly. What are you going to do, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Reminds me of the NHL when they review a possible goal and you know the puck crossed the line but you can't see it because of the goalie's glove blocks the view. Excellent example.

Oops...Forgot Rizzo batting behind Volpe tonight. Forgettable at bat, goes after a 1st pitch FB down and in, misses, pops to Betts in shortish right, 1 down. Does the bat slip out of Volpe's hand again this series? In my opinion, when the bat slips out of a hitter's hand 1 too many times, the hitter is doing something wrong.

Unless we manage to comeback and win this thing, we’re go to have nightmares forever about Nestor over Hill in Game 1 Who's we're? I forgot about that already, my guess is that the players did too.

The balls they take are being called strikes and the balls they swing at they don't come close to hitting. Hey MLB...When are you going to start using the electronic strike zone?

If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. In my opinion, it's kind of unfair to ask a pitcher who missed just about half the season with an arm injury to pitch game 4 on short rest.
