Muncy takes a FB up and away, ball 1. Takes a 94 FB with some cut in the zone above the waist, inner 3rd, 1-1 FB misses outside at 96, but gets a BIG break, called a strike, bad call, but I'm taking it and running to the strike bank, 1-2. 0% on Gameday, missed by at least 2 inches. Lays off the change diving low and outside, 2-2 Back up to 96 with a FB, winds up 2-3 inches high above middle, and the call on the 1-1 makes him chase for the K. Well, to be honest, Muncy might've chased anyway. Weaver with the big 1-2-3, 16 pitches that inning, 21 total, and now Boone has a tough call. Burn Weaver to the nub to lock down this win, or risk using Kahnle for the 4th time in 4 games and having the Dodgers catch up to him. Bottom 8, 6-4 Yanks. Now, finally (as predicted) the Dodgers go to Brent Honeywell. Knew I was right. Knew it.  He'll face Rizzo, Volpe and Wells. |

Volpe squares to bunt, bunts a low FB foul, 0-1
Bounces the slider outside, 1-1
FB misses low, outside middle, Volpe starts and checks, 2-1
Slider low/away, he tries to check, can't, 2-2
Takes his timeout.
Terrible slider low away, he chases and fouls it, and Smith fakes catching it but it bounced. That pitch was maybe 3 inches above the ground.
Leaves the slider where Volpe can get to it, lined to left for a hit, T. Hernandez chases it down toward the corner, and he goes for 2nd, and he's out, but his head hits Lux' mitt and jars it lose!! Volpe safe at 2nd with 1 down. Scored a double.
