Agreed. Yanks lost a number of games, more than usual, in gut wrenching fashion. This one was just a give away. They had the pitching matchups to score again too the last couple innings. So yea the mistakes sucked, but once again RISP fail too. for sure we had 9 walks. 17 baserunners. 1-10 w risp.

I'm angry over blowing this one, but I'd be a lot angrier if i didn't think the better team won the Series. I mean, it's still a longshot if they go to LA down 3-2, especially with Rodon vs. Yamamoto, but I would've been happy to see them become the first team ever to force a 6th game down 3-0. Yea I wasn't gonna get super excited about the chances unless they made it to Game 7. Since Game 7 anything can happen and since Buheler was in this one who knows who starts for them.

Sick to my stomach. Two of the absolute worst postseason losses I've endured within days of each other. Cole gave up one earned run in those two games combined and the Yankees couldn't win either one of them. I cannot think of a team that self-detonated like this one is a championship series. Pissed away Game 1 with a Gleyber special and inexplicable bullpen choice, then an absolute comedy of errors tonight to throw away a 5-0 lead. Absolutely draining.

Agreed Qwik, we had this game. Our defense cost us this one, and Boone and Torres cost us Game #1.

Coupled with the terrible play in the 5th, the bats basically disappeared after the 3rd... On to Spring training, hopefully with Soto.. and a better defensive team..

Please let this be the last of Alex Verdugo in pinstripes. Ah...men.

We're on to SOTO WATCH 2024... Just watch, the Dodgers will probably sign him.

Bummer. Been a fun season overall, teammates. Another season in the books. At least we got a pennant? Figure I'll do a "report card" thread grading each player on their season. Will probably need to simmer down for a few days first, though. We're on to SOTO WATCH 2024... It's still a great season regardless. Rather make the World Series and lose than not make it at all. Want to be at the least fighting for titles (and obv winning too eventually), but the lack of even fighting for one was getting really old.

This game took a year off my life it feels like. Gonna sleep for a good 10 hours now, though I may very well have nightmares of every defensive mental lapse from the World Series.

Probably should add Torres to the list.. I feel like Torres redeemed himself a lot int he second half. Have to see what the contract would be.

As I say from time to time, this era Yankees team always seems to have too many ways to lose, and they found most of them again tonight.
Terrible clutch hitting. Terrible fielding mistakes. Multiple mental flatulence in the field.
There wasn't much bad pitching, just good Dodgers' situational hitting. And I don't think Boone made a major error tonight either. Ah, well.
Yanks lose game 5, 7-6, blowing leads of 5-0 and 6-5, giving the Dodgers enough breaks for a Championship team to take advantage of.
No need for three stars of the game. No need for a game preview for game 6.
I'll just check all the notifications I missed, then get going for the night.

We're on to SOTO WATCH 2024... Just watch, the Dodgers will probably sign him. The Mets are the real threat, I think. Cohen can bid to the skies for him. He's like George was, but without the craziness.

His mental lapses, poor baserunning and low baseball IQ are enough for me to be happy to see him leave. Put Chisolm over at 2nd and lets get a solid 3rd baseman. Also let Verdugo walk and let the Martian get in a full season.

It was great to see old friends and party. Not as good as coming home to a 4-0 lead 5-0 lead, but still...great. You would have had a lot fun doing those first 3 innings. Yeah, I would've. Sigh.
