Statcast says 21 of 30, which Smoltz, of course, did NOT mention. And I'm pretty sure Dodger Stadium is one of them. Thanks qwik. Quite right; that's a HR in Dodger Stadium. The other 8 it was NOT a HR in: Chase Field Fenway Park Coors Field (maybe; carry factor in the lower pressure) Comerica Minute Maid (?!) Probably should add Torres to the list.. And Rizzo. Torres will be a rich man elsewhere, Rizzo a broadcaster. |

I feel like Torres redeemed himself a lot int he second half. Have to see what the contract would be. I really hope we move on from Torres. His mental lapses, poor baserunning and low baseball IQ are enough for me to be happy to see him leave. Put Chisolm over at 2nd and lets get a solid 3rd baseman. Also let Verdugo walk and let the Martian get in a full season. I'd bring him back if he can play first base. He did job in the lead off role. |

Slider starts at him, freezes him, takes it on the corner. Volpe's been frozen by a number of breaking balls at him that turn and hit the inside corner. FB up and in, ball 3. Sinker to the inside corner above the knees, grounded to the right side, Lux fields and throws him out, inning over. Top 7, game tied at 5. Danger time: top of the order for the Dodgers in the 7th. Ohtani, Betts and Freeman. We up one. Yeah, you're right. I guess it just felt like it was still tied, because they only got one in that situation. Thanks for catching that. |

I think we just used up the national supply of Phews and Whews on the board. Send to China to import some more. Wells, Verdugo and back to the top for Torres for the Yanks in their half of the 7th inning. I hope Wells' wrist will let him swing normally. We need 3 or 4 more runs. Did they ever. They got...none. |

I really think we were never winning this series after losing Game 1 the way they did. Hold on and win that one and maybe it's the Dodgers that are crushed under the pressure. Maybe they self-immolate instead of us. Guess we'll never know.

I'm angry over blowing this one, but I'd be a lot angrier if i didn't think the better team won the Series. I mean, it's still a longshot if they go to LA down 3-2, especially with Rodon vs. Yamamoto, but I would've been happy to see them become the first team ever to force a 6th game down 3-0. Agreed Qwik, we had this game. Our defense cost us this one, and Boone and Torres cost us Game #1. Boogie! Good to see you in the game thread, even if it's only for the sad end of the season. Stop by more often next season, if you get the time. |

should be talking about potg. instead ...
the 5th was the probably the most disgusting inning i've ever seen. how in god's name does judge not catch that ball. then volpe the bad throw to 3B. cole then Ks lux & ohtani. incredible job. then a simple grounder to rizzo. inning should be over. no runs scored. haven't seen the replay but rizzo should be able to beat betts to the bag but for an inexplicable reason cole doesn't cover the bag. maybe betts speed mad that happen. and from there the gates open.
but we still take the lead as cole guts his way through 1.2 innings. kahnle totally ineffective setting up a virtually impossible situation for a gassed weaver. game over.

self inflicted wounds are the reason we lost the World Series. This is depressing.

OK, my notifications have been checked and responded to, so I guess that it's for the game threads for this season.
I'll be on the board from time to time, certainly for inger's Hall of Fame thread and an assortment of others.
