I don't care much for Cashman but I can't expect him to perform miracles. As in nature, in baseball resources are limited. There are going to be some lesser players on the Yankees if Soto is to be kept. If Soto stays, you really only need a first baseman since Durbin, Peraza or Vivas can play 2nd and Dominquez LF. They'll still need to add some relievers but that should be it. We should have another mid to back end starter…

Let him go…There’s life after him… Normally I would agree but being a Giants fan watching F***ing Saquon looking like he is going to lead F***ing Philly to a SB ... Pay Soto whatever he wants !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that in the end it won't mean that yes, we'll get Soto, but the rest of the Yankee holes will be patched through the usual Cashman dumpster dives! I don't care much for Cashman but I can't expect him to perform miracles. As in nature, in baseball resources are limited. There are going to be some lesser players on the Yankees if Soto is to be kept. Funny, that theory somehow seems to elude the L.A. Dodgers and their (seemingly) deeper pockets, for players like Ohtani, Yamamoto, Betts, Freeman, etc., etc.

The payrolls are comparable, their guys did better. Going forward the Yankees have to compete with some teams that have as much or more money to spend. You can't win this just on dollars.

Finding them is difficult. One gripe I have with Cashman is that the Yankees put too much emphasis on data and not enough on scouring. Farm systems start with scouting.

I'm also not convinced we do a good job developing young talent.

They seem to have more fun in their legislature in these parliamentary countries.
