I am done with Girardi after this game. Im not one to overreact but he single handedly mismanaged a must win playoff game to a loss.

In the box score, there should be an L next to Girardi's name and not Betances.

That has to be the most absurd Yankee playoff loss in my lifetime. Totally ridicolous. No business losing one like that. Can't blame betances, This game was screwed up from the second that play wasn't challenged which will go down in the same sentence as the midges which I never thought could be topped. |

Can't blame betances, This game was screwed up from the second that play wasn't challenged which will go down in the same sentence as the midges which I never thought could be topped. No this game was screwed up from the second that Girardi felt the need to get cute and pull Sabathia in an ultra low leverage situation (1 on, 1 out, up 5 runs, at just 77 pitches) forcing an overused bullpen to have to convert 11 outs starting with a guy who threw 41 pitches on Tuesday. You guys know Im not one to overreact but this was a total joke. I dont know if I have ever been so disgusted by a game. |

I posted the same thing at the time, but the yankees had so many chances in this game: 1. Taking CC out too early 2. Not challenging 3. Toe getting picked off at 2nd Those were 3 big things. However, didn't miller just pitch 30 pitches last night and then pitched today too? Maybe Robertson wasn't the best of choices, but if their guys can pitch 30 pitches one night and the be ok for the next ours should be able to do the same. |
