2 Challenges in a post season game, but it can be up to 4 is both are successful. Judge and Sanchez haven't really hit this series yet. Hopefully they can be locked in Game 3 and 4.

I don’t understand why he felt like not challenging there was appropriate. I’m not perfect on MLB rules, but I don’t think they have a limit on how many challenges you can have in a game, or am I wrong? Also, Gary Sanchez was ADAMANT from the moment the ump made the call that the ball hit the bat. As a former catcher, you would think Girardi would appreciate that, but not Joe. As for everything else; it was absolutely horrible that he pulled CC. Especially when you think about how he left him in AFTER he gave up a leadoff walk. Now I know Jay Bruce is a lefty and we know how Joe is about matchups. Plus it was the bottom of the order with Jackson and Gomes coming up. Should’ve left CC in there and let Green come in to start a clean inning. You could also make an argument here that when Green got in trouble, Joe should’ve went with Robertson/Betances/Chapman to face Lindor. Last year Tito didn’t care what inning it was, when he needed an out, he called on his guys to get that out and sort it out later. This bullpen is the most expensive in baseball and it’s completely inexcusable to get cute during that situation. Anyway, I feel a little better that I got that off my chest lol. Robertson and Betances pitched great tonight, Chapman also. Give Bruce credit for laying off those 2 curve balls and forcing Robertson to throw him a fastball. He got his pitch and he crushed. Betances probably went 1 too many, but his manager should’ve pulled him knowing he was so slow to the plate with Jackson at first. Did he really think Tito wouldn’t steal there? Come on, Joe! Ok, I’m off my . See you all, Sunday Yes thank god for this forum! If I didn't have an outlet I think I woulda thrown my remote through my TV! [rofl] You're right. So many bad managing moves. I forgot about Joe not pulling Betances with Austin Jackson on first. That was pretty stupid too.

Only 2nd ? For me nothing tops 2001 World Series Game 7 and 2004 ALCS Game 7. Yea you're right. 3rd worst loss. I was forgetting the 2001 World Series Game 7. That was pretty heartbreaking. I guess the 1995 ALDS loss was pretty bad too. But I'd rank this one over that one. I never expected them to do much in 1995. Did it suck to lose after being up 2-0 and leading with 3 outs to go? Sure, but that was BEFORE the whole Mariano Rivera as our closer era begun so I never thought the game was over when it got to the 9th then. What sucked about 2001 is they came back multiple times at home in back to back nights. They were up 3-2 in the series with America behind them and all the momentum in the world. Yet they somehow get behind 15-0 by the 4th inning of the next game. Never made sense to me. Regardless we lead in the 9th and just nothing goes right. It was just such a letdown because of the whole 9/11 thing, the comebacks in nyc, etc. Nothing has ever topped it for me at least. 2004 sucked too, but I knew it was over from the second inning. I never had false hope we would win that game in the 9th inning. Without replay I would have been pissed, but with it existing it was just inexcusable what happened tonight. Does it guarantee a win if the replay call did happen? Of course not, but least the inning likely ends 8-3 and not 8-7.

Without it, Boston still might be in "1918! mode". 2001 ALCS Game 7 was second worst. It sucked not to win after 9/11 and the two 9th inning comebacks. This will be the third worst if we lose the series. I'm trying to think of other playoff disasters. There's the midges game. There's Sheffield and Crosby colliding in the outfield against the Angels. There's Kenny Rogers cheating with the pine tar. Mariano blowing the save in Game 5 against the Indians in 2007. Thats a lot of them!

Some of the old timers will say 1960 world series vs pittsburgh walkoff 2012 ALCS Game 1 Ibanez does it again, but yankees couldn't break the tie it goes to extras, Jeter breaks Ankle (never was the same again after that), Delmon Young wins it 2011 ALDS Game 5 after Burnett saves our season in Detroit yankees go cold in Game 5 and just flat out suck 2010 ALCS Game 2 After shocking the rangers with a huge comeback in game 1 to the point where president bush and nolan ryan had disgusted looks on their faces texas jumps out to a 5-0 lead early wins that then comes to yankee stadium and completely dominates the yankees twice.

But look at least we can say whether its this year, next year or 5 years from now we will see the yankees in a world series again at some point. If you are a seattle mariners fan you aren't sure if it will ever happen and if it does and they lose you do not know if they will ever make it there again. There are so many teams like that where you can live most of your life and NEVER see them even in a championship game. Example the Jets I might never see them in the Super Bowl. Yet if I was a Giants fan they have already been in multiple and I know they will make another at some point. These loses like tonight suck bad, but least we get to see games of this caliber. Some fans of some team never get to see their team even make the playoffs yet alone the world series.
