Yes, the umps got it right...Stanton was struck out... I don't think so. I think it hit the bat too. it's "one of those rules"....if the guy swings and the ball never contacts the bat, its a strike...…..nevermind that your fingers got mashed by the ball, and the alternate ruling could be HBP..... |

Also can anyone explain how that's a K? If it hits the batter only (like his hands) its a strikeout on the swing. If it hits the bat its a foul. That's my understanding. I thought it hit the knob of the bat but I only got one look |

Michael Fullmer got pounded today. Seven runs and ten hits allowed in 4.2 innings... Gotta be one of the most overrated players. Very little track record. He even tailed way off in the second half last year iirc. Low K/9. Not interested at all, especially since Detroit think he's elite. |

Well, if a batter swings at a ball that hits his body, it’s a strike, so common sense says that if it hits his hand that is a part of his body...so in this case it’s strike three and the ball is dead...

I'd rather see Sheffield or Cole get a chance. The best option is that Gray and German get themselves on a roll after the all star break. Sure miss Montgomery. |
