Tanaka is HR prone, I don't hate the move. Using Robertson for 1 batter was strange, but it worked so I wouldn't harp on it really. I really think they should put Holliday at DH what is there to lose at this point? Ellsbury and Healdey arent hitting or getting on base. There must be something wrong with Holliday. Has to be I mean its been a forever post season thing for a player like him to get a pinch hit AB and get an important hit, hr etc. Ibanez, Matt stairs, etc. This is a DH spot on top of it so worse he can do is go 0 for 4 like Headley and Ellsbury have done. He can't commit some crazy error. He's not going to be stealing bases etc.

This is all I got from River Ave Blues :
When asked on Saturday whether Holliday would play on Sunday, Girardi said, “We will continue to look at things and we’ll see.”

The bench is literally Headley/Ellsbury, Toe, Romine, Holliday Therefore Holliday can only PH for the DH as he doesnt play IF or Catcher. If he PH for any other position they have to waste two players as I'm not sure if he could play outfield after such a long layoff. Still makes no sense to me as the ones struggling are playing DH lol.

I was watching the MLB Network they did a segment on Sanchez and what a great job he did catching Tanaka's splitter. As much heat he gets about blocking balls it was nice to see some positives.

Yes, its good you mentioned that. I noted it during the game too. Excellent work behind the plate by Sanchez.

I had a little exchange about this with Scott Reinen from Bronx Pinstripes on Twitter last night. I think too much is made of passed balls in general. To me, pitchers changing their approach or pitching scared seems irrational given the numbers. Major League teams threw around 24,000 pitches on average this season. Given this magnitude of pitches received by Major League catchers, I do not find it statistically significant if between 0.03% and 0.08% of pitches result in passed balls (this percentage is even lower if counting PBs that having meaningful negative impact) nor do I see any material statistical difference between a guy who lets 15 balls sneak by and a guy who only lets only 5 balls by over the course of a season.

Unbelievable game last night to be at the stadium. Nice warm welcome richly deserved for Girardi. But pleased to see the crowd loudly cheer Severino. Tanaka was amazing. The offense was frustrating but I give Carrasco credit. Terrific job by Tanaka pitching out of trouble after that triple/error by Judge on a ball he should have caught, but Judge redeemed himself with the catch on the Lindor fly ball that would have been a HR if not for him. Incredible jonb by Bird against Miller, of course. The place went bananas when that ball got in the air. My 7yo and I screamed our lungs out after that one. Thought Judge and Sanchez pressed a little when they came up with Gardner on 2nd and 1st base open. In the end it didn't matter because Chapman made the 1 run hold up. Last inning was pretty tense in the stadium which made the result even more satisfying. Incredible experience for my family.
As for what's next, the Prophet Mariano Duncan said it best in 1996, "We Play Today, We Win Today. Das It!"

Curveball after curveball from Robertson. Command with his curve was not sharp. Wouldn't make too much of it but I hope he's ok after that unusually long outing. Hopefully he's sharp the next time they need him.

By the way, I tried to post pictures during the game last night but apparently I am too old to figure out how to do that and eventually decided that looking at my phone was a stupid thing to do during that game with my kids so I put it away and spent more time screaming at Dana DeMuth with my sons.
Had a damn fine Lobel's steak sandwich right around the time Judge couldn't catch that ball that ended up being a triple.

I had a Lobel's sandwich for the first time in years a few weeks ago at the stadium...great choice!

Is Lobel's a better option than a Jersey Mike's philly cheesesteak?
