The yankees have played the rays 12 times this year.
5-1 @ yankee stadium

This team relies on the long ball so much that it makes it tough for them when they aren't hitting them. I've lost track how many years I have heard this. No matter who is on the team this always seems to pop back up. When you watch this team, they'll hit mistakes for HR's and draw some wallks but there is very few great hitters in the lineup which I think is why they struggle to get those clutch two out RBI hits that you sometimes need to win games. (Didi hitting 3rd is all we need to know) Then when you consider that they don't do a good job of advancing base runners and they don't steal a lot of bases, you get frustrating games like this.

It's been a while since the yankees have had consistent base stealer for whatever reason.

I really hate Sergio Romo The Yankees sure do seem to struggle against him.

this is a talented team which is playing uninspired, sleep-walking, baseball......the fact that there was not a front-office uproar about the Sanchez loaf-to-first play sends the wrong message.....everyone looks complacent....what?...we lost again...oh, well...

The next week and a half are gonna be very interesting, Yanks got to take care of Royals/O's in a six game homestand (go 5-1 or better) before heading to Boston for a 4-game set. Don't and they may be leaving Fenway close to 7-10 games back.

No more acceptable losses to poor teams...

Let's give kudos to Cessa. He cam into the game today with a 102+ career ERA, and I would guess he improved upon that...He may be better than some of the guys we were throwing out there every turn, German, Gray, etc...
