In fact the division is still doable, but I would settle for 102 wins and 5 GB after the dust settles. I don’t believe Boston is going to win 115 games.

Even if the Red Sox win 115 games, remember last year when the Indians won 22 games in a row? What happened to them? Remember the 2001 Mariners who won 116 games? What happened to them?

If Sevi, Tanaka, Happ, Lynn, CC are our weapons going forward with Gray in the wings plus our other BP pieces and an 85-90% Judge and a Sanchez/ Romine platoon with Clint Frazier in the mix, I say bring it. Short series are fun😉

Same deal for 2002 Athletics who went on that 20 game winning streak. They wrote a whole book and made a movie about it. The climax was Oakland getting knocked out in the ALDS by the Twins.

Remember when our old friend Yankee54 talked so much shit about how inept Cashman was for taking Damon Sublett one pick ahead of Matt Moore who was a no doubt big star starting pitcher? Low and behold here he is as a reliever with a 7.60 ERA. In his defense, where is is Damon Sublett? It is kind of goofy when people get so excited about things like the draft or IFA signings that should or shouldn't have happened involving players they've never seen even once. That's the main take away for me when reflecting on an argument all these years ago about two players where one never sniffed the majors and one has turned out to be a bad major league pitcher.

Absolutely. Forgot that those A's won 20 games in a row. Hudson/Zito/Mulder. Still no championships. We beat them in the playoffs in 2000 and 2001.

You're just jealous because you don't have all the inside sources like the dentist from Detroit or JoeBee, the doorman.
