I'm watching the Yanks but channel surfing during commercials. I've seen that anti-smoking commercial that YES shows a million times. "Smoking is eating you alive!!!!" What about that stupid Corazon movie? "Do you understand the gravity of your illness?". I can quote that entire commercial off the top of my head. “Are you going to Hell me”???

Did you know that movie features a cameo than none other than Luis Severino?

“Are you going to Hell me”??? "No I can't. Not here at least." I’ll need to see you on your knees in my office. THEN I can help you... No wait. That was “Deep Throat”, circa early seventies. That was such a trendy thing back then. There was a theatre just across the state line that sold out to a group that switched it over to all porn. Nothing but porn. I’m telling you that EVERYBODY went there. 35’ long body parts stretched across the screen, and they weren’t arms or legs... lol...

The Browns fired another coach after another loss to the Steelers. The went 1-31 the previous seasons, yet already have 2 wins this year. Isn't that progress?

As one unfortunate enough to be a Browns fan -- when I first started following football, they were actually good, led by Jim Brown and coached by Paul Brown -- I do think they can lay a solid claim to being the most dysfunctional organization in North American professional sports. The San Diego Padres and Sacramento Kings are certainly in the running, and the Miami Marlins could get some votes as well. For many years, the San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers and the Detroit Lions probably led the way. But for sheer irrationality in the way they run the team, you have to hand it to the Browns. Who of course would be what the Baltimore Ravens have been were it not for Art Modell, but that is a different story.
Longest post-season droughts in pro sports, with the year the team last made it:
Seattle Mariners -- 2001 Cleveland Browns -- 2002 Miami Marlins -- 2003 Sacramento Kings -- 2006 San Diego Padres -- 2006 Tampa Bay Bucs -- 2007 Chicago White Sox -- 2008 Carolina Hurricanes -- 2009
Hockey is the sport which makes it easiest to qualify for the post-season, so naturally a hockey drought is harder to extend than a baseball drought. Back in the glory days of the Original Six, they played an entire season to eliminate two teams.
The Buffalo Bills had not made the post-season from 1999 until last year, leaving the Mariners with the dubious distinction of longest drought. But the Mariners have at least had some decent teams in the interim. And the Detroit Lions do deserve some mention for historic ineptitude. Since they were established in 1929 as the Portsmouth (OH) Spartans (they became the Detroit Lions in 1933) they have won a grand total of five post-season games. Since their last NFL championship in 1957, the Lions have won exactly one playoff game, a Wild Card round in 1991. Now that is amazingly consistent failure.

This has been a sleepy thread for quite some time. I’m playing the role of pink helmet fan and watching the Colts attempting to survive the Titans to make the playoffs after the 1-5 start this year...

I finished first and second in the two fantasy leagues I participated in. Took home a cool 1200 dollars though I just missed out on winning the second one too by a few points!

They only needed about 10 more yards to attempt a game winning field goal and put their old buddies, The Steelers in the playoffs. That's what I get for cheering for the Browns for the first time in my life. I feel so dirty that I need a shower.

I think CHI is rooting hard for a tie in the Colts/Titans game. The only way the Steelers make the playoffs!

I've seen some wild things in the NFL including last year's miraculous Saints/Vikings playoffs game. But a tie here would be right up there! I'm rooting for a tie just to see the Steelers in the playoffs where they can be a dangerous team! Anyone from the AFC except the Patriots!
