Brilliant move by AMAZON.
NFL finalizes new 11-year media rights deal, Amazon gets exclusive Thursday Night rights
The new agreement runs through 2033 and will feature two Super Bowls returning to Disney’s ABC network channel. Amazon is paying about $1 billion per year, according to people familiar with the matter. ViacomCBS, Fox and Comcast (which owns NBCUniversal) are all paying more than $2 billion per year for their packages, while Disney (which owns ESPN and ABC) will pay around $2.7 billion annually, according to people familiar with the matter.

Well, the New Orleans Saints, who have won four division titles in a row, have stripped down their roster due to the salary cap:
- Drew Brees retired, but before doing so, restructured his contract so that the Saints would only owe him 1 million dollars against the cap this season (pushing owed dollars to next season) - Saints released their #1 TE Jared Cook who signed with the Chargers - Released #2 TE Josh Hill - DT and run stuffer Malcom Brown was traded to the Jaguars for a seventh round pick - DE Trey Henderson who led the Saints in sacks was released and signed a free agent contract with Cincinnati - DT Sheldon Rankins is a free agent and likely will not be re-signed by the Saints - Special teams gunner and star Justin Hardee DB signed with the Jets - Cut #2 CB Jenoris Jenkins (Jack Rabbit) who was immediately signed by the Titans - Cut All Pro Punter Thomas Morstead - Cut #2 WR Emanuel Sanders - Cut #2 LB Kwon Alexander (he tore his Achilles before the playoffs, which was a huge loss) - Cut OG Nick Easton, who was the arguably their best guard last season, though only stared a couple games
They also restructured the contracts of MULTIPLE players, turning contract money into bonuses, and re-signed several players to cap friendly contracts. So, in all, they have created roughly over 111 million dollars in cap space.
Luckily, the Saints were arguably the deepest roster - top to bottom - in the NFL...but no longer. Saints will need to hit the bullseye on their draft picks and uncover some hidden gems with Undrafted Free Agents (which they often do on at least one or two contributors each year, especially DL like Malcolm Roach last season and Shy Tuttle two years ago, or going way back RB Pierre Thomas).
Most importantly, the Saints must find a #2 CB and #2 LB or the defense will take a big step backwards. I am not as concerned with their DL losses, though significant, because their depth was so strong in that area.
On another note, I see CB Kyle Fuller was released by Chicago. That was a surprise to me.

lol, the Bears should have just kept Mitch. Credit the Bills for a very friendly contract to back up Josh Allen. Who will back up Andy Dalton?

All this future money coming into the league and there will be more since this doesn't count the NFL Ticket package or mobile phone app revenue. So, why didn't the league raise the salary cap, so teams like the Saints and the Steelers could have signed more of their own free agents? This pandemic was just a minor speed bump for the the cash cow that is the NFL. watching some of these teams strip their team apart to get under the cap is bad for the league.

The Steelers surprisingly resigned JuJu Schuster to a one year, 8 million contract. No one in Pittsburgh thought he was coming back, but he took less money to return. In order to make room for JuJu, the Steelers need to either trade or release their starting corner, Steve Nelson, so while it's great to have Schuster back, Pittsburgh's defense is worse now.

This season, Saints and Sean Payton were fined a total of $350,000 — $250,000 for the team and $100,000 for Payton — after the head coach failed to properly wear his face covering during a Week 2 game against the Raiders. The team was fined another $500,000 for its second offense later in the season, when a player was dancing in the locker room after a game without a mask. Now, Roger Goodell has fined the Saints $700,000 and docked a sixth round draft pick. Take a look at the image below:

Giants signed Golladay. We certainly have offensive weapons. Hope that line holds up to give Daniel Jones time to throw.

Any Jets’ fans here? What does everyone think about the Sam Darnold trade? Did they give up too soon?

Any Jets’ fans here? What does everyone think about the Sam Darnold trade? Did they give up too soon? It's sad but the only guys being drafted that I know anything about are the Alabama and Clemson players. I never heard of the that QB San Fran took. And LSU guys (sorry Rizz!)
