As if we needed more proof that Rizz's response was a ridiculous non-sequitur when considered in regards to what I actually said. Do you know what non-sequitur means? You mentioned campaign promises, and I listed a few. Why does it appear that you get piss-y and lash out whenever someone doesn't validate your position or point of view? You seem to have a habit of lumping all posts and posters into two camps: fer or agin. One can dodge folly without backing into fear. But I guess "aggressively pursuing" also means "has successfully achieved all". Your guess would be incorrect. Why not take the post as written, rather than a reaction of extremis. By and large the big things (the ones that people actually care about most notably) have in fact been pursued. Do you believe the "people" desired the removal of many income tax deductions that have been considered standard for generations? I don't know many who were writhing with anticipation to give the wealthiest 1% greater tax breaks. Perhaps you were one of them. The claim was never that he did everything or not even that he didnt fib or exaggerate Yet, that is the point. And, some of the things promised were rather easy to accomplish, such as not taking more vacation days than the average citizen or simply being transparent about personal finances. but this administration has absolutely aggressively pursued their major campaign issues (trade imbalance, illegal immigration, tax and regulatory reform, judiciary, healthcare - which failed bc of Congress, etc.). Picking out a handful of mostly obscure items to try to prove otherwise is not honest. You appear to easily accuse others of not being honest. It must be amazing to know another person's intent and assume you have the right to assign a value judgement to that individual. Rizzuto: Another GREAT Post.
Your Post describes how Joe and his type perfectly = Die Hard GOP Supporters, who regardless of what the Donald/ GOP does or says AND/OR what the Facts-Truth-Reality is.
I feel truly sad for the GOP; for at one time I used to RESPECT Them.
Now with their Current Actions/Statements and SUCH, for the last 10-years Plus; I have no RESPECT for 98% Plus of them (there are a few exceptions ???).
They are TOTALLY out-of-touch with REALITY.
The ONLY good thing is that THEY (because of their Actions/Statements/Policies) are driving Hundreds of Thousands of Voters to the Democrats on a regular basis.
They could end this Rein of Donald and the Dangers all American/World Citizens face from Donald along with other countries face, from this Incompetent, Compulsive Serial Lying, Racist, Mentally Unstable, Corrupt, Bully, etc. etc. etc. President:
By GROWING SOME BALLS and putting the Welfare & Safety of ALL American Citizens ahead of their Loyalty to the GOP and to stop doing BS to remain in power (their political careers).
However, with a few exceptions (so damn few); this sadly, WILL NOT HAPPEN...
So Donald will continue to WRECK HAVCO on America's Economy, Minorities, The Poor/Helpless, Our ALLIES, Mother Nature, the Global Economy, etc. etc. etc.
I wonder how JOE (And others like him), will Justify/Excuse when:
Donald, members of his Family, members of his administration/appointees, some of his key GOP supporters, Members of the GOP, etc. are Indicted on Serious Ethics Violations, Lying to Law Enforcement, Corruption, Money Laundering, Lying to Congress, Obstruction of Justice, SEC Violations, Collusion with a foreign country/countries, etc. etc. etc.
Who knows; maybe even TREASON???
WE ALL should start a Pool...each of us gets to pick a Box/Boxes with written Justifications that Joe and his type might use as an Justifications/Excuses as to the Actions of Donald/GOP. We should make it $100.00 a Box just to make it interesting.
ON THE SERIOUS SIDE: SADLY Donald's Rein of Power will end really, really UGLY; More Ugly than anyone us could have ever imagine (I have stated such before)
He is Mentally UNSTABLE and under ATTACKS from all sides.
His history and current recent past actions/statements, shows he will come out ON THE ATTACK & DO SOME STUPID/VERY DANGEROUS things, to Distort/Distract America and his Fringed/Rabid base of Lunatics away from his so many pending problems, etc.
Believe ME, when I say, I now PRAY every day/night to God, Jesus, The Virgin Mary, Michael the Warrior Angel, etc. to prevent this Madman from further dragging America in a Hell-Like Chaotic Event(s).
Did you know that as of this WEEK, that Donald has LIED 7,546 times, since taking office?
At this Very Critical Dangerous Point, I would be OK, If he cut a deal with Pence, to be pardon and to immediately resign from office.
Why am I ok with this?
Because a Pardon does NOT Apply to the State Criminal Charges that the Virginia, D.C., Maryland, NY, etc. etc. etc. AG'S would file against him thereby bringing a CRUMBLING and well deserved end to the Trump Organization, etc.
But DONALD isn't SMART. He is Incompetent, a Liar and a Bully, etc. = It is his WAY or NO WAY!!!
Joe, just for the record, I do not hate you; but I do feel sorry for you and pity too...I expect more/better from you = Truth, Facts, Reality, etc.
Anyway, Joe, have a Great Holiday Season.

Uh, inger, the House has been Republican since before Trump was elected. The Dems will only be the majority after Jan. 3, 2019. Maybe you didn’t realise that Paul Ryan has been Speaker of the House. He is a Republican. Okay. Admittedly I failed to realize that the lame duck Republicans still have a couple of weeks before they’re shuttled out the door, mea culpa and all that jazz. In any event, we are indeed in a bad way, and truly even if the republicans were holding that majority in both houses, we still have a protest candidate in the office of POTUS that was not likely to get much support because he is not truly republican nor democrat. The scary thing is that there is not a single member of congress, nor a governor, judge, or any other politically connected individual that I feel a shred of hope for to give us leadership anymore. We’ve elected Trump, who or what is next? It’s rather frightening... That will never fly with the old guard politicos of the USA. They have the American people by the gonads no matter who we vote for. We have completely lost the support of our governing bodies. They don’t represent anyone except for the mega wealthy. We have become that in so many ways. I’m thankful that I still have right to type this, but I’m beginning to wonder for how long...

Its kind of funny, this type of arrogance and condescending disdain is exactly how you got Trump and this current state of affairs in the first place. You seem to forget that I didnt vote for Trump and have said as much a number of times. The irrational and blinding hatred has completely destroyed your ability to be objective in any way whatsoever. But once Trump is gone, your ire will just move onto the next Republican. Like I said in an earlier post you people said George W Bush was a Hitlerian war criminal and Mitt Romney was going to put blacks back in chains...we've all seen this movie before.
Thanks for the pity but it couldnt be any less necessary.

Wow. 7546 lies. First of all, who’s counting this shit? Secondly, how are we deciding what is an out and out lie and what is simply an inaccurate statement made with no particular intent to deceive?...
I’ll repeat again, I’m far from a Trump supporter. Nor am I a complete dissenter. I tend to watch and listen to both sides of the argument and chime in with the few gems of support or dissent that I see. But once in a while something comes across as total bullshit propaganda, and that line jumps out at me like a beacon of hyperbole that makes it hard for me to take the rest of the 3,000 or so words of the post seriously.
I think that’s where our politics are now. We have opposing viewpoints, so instead of analyzing what’s best and where the middle ground is that could bring about acceptable solutions, we’d rather point verbal weapons of mass destruction at each other and accuse those who have an opinion different than ours of lying or extremism...which is itself a form of extremism...and helps no one...

It is far more interesting to discuss and have long form exchanges about actual issues, the general culture (since politics is ultimately just downstream of the culture), and the appropriate role of government in America. I had this conversation with a guy at work this past week who is a complete polar opposite of me (a Bernie Sanders Leftist) and we were in total agreement about that aspect (not to mention we have really interesting substantive and productive conversations about a number of topics). The "news of the day" or more accurately "outrage of the day" doesn't lend itself to these kinds of discussions where we can actually exchange ideas and find the truth or some common ground. Modern society is completely infatuated with the latter and it takes away from our ability to engage substantially in the former. What makes the "news of the day" conversations so boring is that you already know what everyone is going to say about the given outrage and its usually little more than the same old parroted sound bites ("Orange Man Bad" vs. "MAGA").

Systematic corruption as a form of government and the largest gap between the haves and have nots. I widh I could confidently say that the USA is dissimilar, but I can’t. We may not have as wide of a gap between the haves and have nots, but we do have a gap. What would be interesting would be to know what that gap looked like 100 years ago, 50 years ago, twenty years ago, ten years ago, and today, There is a system in the USA that flows money into certain hands, and there surely is corruption involved in that system. I’m sure people have ridden that system to elected power on local, state, and national platforms. Perhaps it’s less blatant than what we see in foreign countries, but surely it exists. Thanks for the video. I watched every second of it with interest...

No. I had intent to read it but never did. In fact, I thought about looking for the link last night. Thanks for re-sending... I actually realized once I started to read this that I had started and never finished, which I did today. I sensed at a young age that war was evil. I didn’t know exactly why, but it seemed as though a vast majority of adults were hawk-like back in the sixties. I recall being ridiculed by classmates when I revealed myself as a dove in the Vietnam Nam “ conflict” and said we should bring our troops home... Nothing has changed about that. The only war I could worth fighting would be for the young men being sent away to turn their rifles on the people sending them. Shocking, treasonous words, but it just might change their minds...

GREAT ARTICLE:
Do Me Thoughts: Here are some ways we might avoid wars (not All; but some):
1. Require, that to go to War, Both the House/Senate must each approve such with a 75% YES vote. 2. Those House Members/Senators that voted 'Yes'; than, their children over 18-years old are to immediately leave College/Jobs Enlist and immediately after Basic Training are to Report to the Front Lines where the War is most Brutal. 3. All Rich Families with a Net-Worth, over $25 Million; are to have their children over 18-years....the same as #2. 4. If a Corporation/Rich Families PROFITS off the War, their Federal Tax would rise to 70%. 5. The Companies that Profit Off WAR(S) must ALSO foot 33% of the Cost of War. 6. If their is a Draft, WHITE RICH KIDS go first, regardless of their Status.
There is more; but it gets pretty gross.

Not bad dome, but I hope you would make exceptions for situations like WW2 when Hitler and Japan had to be beaten. All citizens rich and poor paid with the same red blood. Also, in a lot of instances guys volunteer for the services. Say what you will, but a few years in the Navy, Army or Air Force can build guys futures, pay for their future education and build a lot of character. Nothing wrong with going that route when a lot of other doors might be closed for whatever reasons.
