What happens when you DO try to move a batter and you hit him? I know I would feel different if it was Judge that got hit.. but I don't see anything wrong with what Urena did. You got a guy constantly hitting leadoff home runs. Your game plan is to pitch him inside... you happen to hit him.. benches clear... it's over. You would feel differently if it was Judge who was hit? Then why the double standard? That was an obvious attempt to hit Acuna by Urena. He didn't just happen to hit him. He's been denounced by just about everyone across baseball even his own manager Mattingly. Why is it okay to chuck a 97 mph baseball at someone just because they have been good against you? He could have seriously injured him. Makes no sense whatsoever to condone such behavior. I would feel different because I have an "emotional" stake with Judge. I think I can look at the Urena/Acuna situation a little more rationally (or irrationally depending on how you view the situation). What makes you think the situation was on purpose?

FYI... I DO think pitches should learn control a little better if they wanna pitch inside. If a guy throws inside and loose control, not on purpose, hit them where it hurts the most... not their nuts, but their pockets. The suspension system in place is really stupid. A position player gets suspended 5 games, he misses 5 games, a pitcher gets suspended 5 games, he misses 1. If you truely wanna make it hurt, raise the fines for HBP that injury players. Like by a lot. These players make a lot. It should be a percentage of their salary... But pitches SHOULD be able to pitch inside... and if it happens to miss and hits the batter, so be it.. so IDK..
Don't get me started on home plate collisions... and the STUPID second base rule. Wanna not get hurt with a runner sliding into second? How about you get good at baseball and learn better footwork...
Gotta quit babying players, but that's the culture we live in. Instead of making people improve on their shortcomings, we pretend they don't have shortcomings and change society / laws to fit.... but that's for the politics thread I guess...

Dude, did you watch the video/coverage of the pitch? It was sooooooooo on purpose. Look at the MLB press release for one:
"Miami Marlins pitcher José Ureña has received a six-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally hitting Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves with a pitch in the bottom of the first inning of Wednesday night's game at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. Joe Torre, Chief Baseball Officer for Major League Baseball, made the announcement."
If you don't think that pitch was on purpose I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
Also, you shouldn't hold a double standard emotional stake or not. If you would have gotten pissed if Judge got hit, you should also see that it's wrong to hit Acuna.

I agree I shouldn't have a double standard, but I do. I haven't really looked into the matter much.. it came up on the MLB APP and I watched the video... nothing else. It don't have to do with the Yankees or Red Sox and it's in the National League so I didn't really look into it much. I've actually been spending some time away from baseball... Been really into a lot of music lately... and science.

I have a biased belief that all of the universe is pre-seeded for life, just waiting for the proper conditions to exist for the life to burst forth and begin in warm puddle, thereby starting anew the process of evolution. I may be a weirdo, but I will assure you that there are a lot of “us” that are free thinkers that come to the same conclusion...

I don't think you're a weirdo and I think your belief is a pretty widely held belief. Actually, I don't see much debate about it. You're a smart man inger... you never cease to amaze me.
